Pretty Little Liars: Where's Toby?

Part Twenty-Two

The Hospital

            After about a thirty-minute drive to the hospital, Toby was taken to a regular hospital room where Spencer would wait with him. A minute later, a doctor came in to examine him. “Well Mr. Cavanaugh, lets see what we’ve got here. And, I’m glade to know that you are okay.”, the doctor said, getting all his equipment. “Thank you.”, Toby replied. The doctor then continued to check him, looking at the rope marks and where Alison had slapped.

            “Well, all I can find is a mark from a forceful hit, some raw or bruised marks from the ropes, and some marks on your wrists and ankles. Anything else you can think of?”, he asked, checking Toby’s heart beat. “Toby?”, Spencer asked quietly, Toby knowing what she meant. “Um…I-I was raped.”, Toby replied to him, getting a wide-eyed stare from the doctor.

            “Okay. Well, um, the best thing we can do is check you for anything you might have contracted and if we find Miss. Dilaurentis we’ll check her as well.”, he told him, getting an occasional nod from him and Spencer. “We’ll prepare the room and you should be ready to go in about ten minutes.”, he continued, beginning to walk away before Spencer stopped him. “Wait. Is our friend alright? A Mona Vanderwal?”, she asked. “Yes. Miss. Vanderwal just lost some blood and suffered a shoulder wound. She’ll be fine in a few days.”, he confirmed before leaving to prepare everything for Toby.

            A minute later, Cece came through the door. “Hey Toby.”, she said, a small smile on her face. “Hi Cece.”, Toby replied, a small smile on his face as well. Then, without a word, she walked over to Toby and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. “What was that for?”, he asked. “For helping stand up for myself against Ali. And for being okay.”, she answered. She then was about to leave before Toby stopped her. “Hey Cece. Just so you know, I’m not pressing you with any charges.”, he told her. “Thanks Toby.”, she replied, walking back out the door.

        Not long after Cece left, the doctor came back in. “Toby, the room is ready early so you can come on.”, he said, gesturing Toby towards the door. “Well, here goes nothing.”, he said, getting up and walking towards the door. “Toby, you’ll be fine. I’ll be right outside the entire time. You have nothing to worry about.”, Spencer said as they walked down the hallway. “I know I don’t Spence. Not anymore.”, Toby replied with a smile. The doctor gestured for him again and he headed behind the door for his tests.
