"Does your tummy feel better mommy?" Cecilia asked her mother.
Cecilia stood in front of her mother touching her mother's stomach.
My parents had gotten to Fiji and we were all having dinner at their villa. Cecilia and I spent most of the day at the beach and she loved every minute of it.
I loved seeing my daughter happy.
I wish Zoey could have joined us but she wasn't feeling too good this morning.
"Yes sweetie it does," Zoey said to Cecilia.
Cecilia smiled and walked off to sit down at the dinner table.
I walked up to Zoey and she looked kind of distracted.
"You really ok or just trying to put on a brave front for baby girl?" I asked.
"I'm good... but we should talk after dinner," Zoey said.
She sounded serious and it kind of made me wonder what she wanted to discuss.
Zoey went to sit down and I sat down too. My parents joined us as we got ready to eat.
We all started to eat and Cecilia started telling her grandparents about her day with me.
I pulled out my phone to show them pictures.
As we all talked I noticed Zoey not really eating her food or paying much attention to the conversation.
She seemed to just be somewhere else in her mind.
We all enjoyed our food aside from Zoey. She just pushed her food around the plate for the most part.
We ate dessert, which Zoey declined.
After we were done eating I excused myself with Zoey.
I could tell something was wrong with her and I wanted to know what was on her mind.
Cecilia wanted to spend the night with her grandparents and my parents were more than willing to watch her for the night.
Zoey and I left my parents Villa and went back to mine.
"You want some wine?" I asked as we entered my room.
"No," Zoey said distracted as she slowly followed me.
We walked over to the couch out looking the pool connected to my room.
I opened the doors so we could see the beautiful view and so that the night breeze would come through.
I sat down on the couch as Zoey just stood there with her arms crossed.
"Zoe sit down," I said as I pulled her arm and brought her down on the couch.
She sat down beside me but still just didn't seem all there.
"Talk to me. You've been weird since dinner," I said.
"If we hadn't of slept together in Vegas would you have broken up with Veronica?" Zoey asked.
I was caught off guard by her question.
Why was Zoey thinking about Veronica?
"What does that matter?" I questioned.
"Just answer me," Zoey said.
"I don't know," I said honestly.
"You loved her and was ready to start a family with her. I mean if she hadn't of lost the baby you would have married her and she would be on this trip not me," Zoey said.
