After what happened at the coffee shop Katherine and Five found themselves in Vanya's apartment.
Five was clutching his bleeding arm and Katherine sat with a far off look on her face. When the door opened Five clicked on the lamp, startling Vanya.
"Jesus!"
"You should have locks on your windows." Five informed her.
"I live on the second floor, is that how you got in?" She questioned as she closed the door behind her.
Katherine shook her head, "I unlocked the door." Katherine held up her key to her sisters apartment and Vanya smiled.
Five, who began to feel left out said, "Rapists can climb." Katherine rolled her eyes and sunk down further into her seat.
"You are so weird," Vanya muttered to herself. After sitting down beside Katherine Vanya noticed the red substance in her brothers arm. "Is that blood?" She looked at Five then to Katherine.
Five dismissed her question, sighing when she asked another. "Why are you here?"
He sat up in his seat, glancing over to Katherine. "I've decided you're the only ones I can trust." Katherine perked up, suddenly interested in what he had to say.
"Why us?" Vanya asked.
Five looked to Vanya, "Because you're ordinary," then to Katherine, "and you, are the love of my life." Katherine rolled her eyes at him and scoffed.
Five quickly added on, "Because you'll listen."
"I could go get some medical–" Vanya began but was cut off suddenly by her brother.
"No need. Katherine?" He rolled his sleeve up and held his arm out to her. Katherine made no move to help him and simply scoffed. "No."
Vanya gave her sister a look. Katherine groaned and placed her hands over his cut, a faint black mist wrapping around his arm. When she removed her hands he was as good as new, cut completely healed. "Thanks Kat."
She mumbled to herself and threw herself against Vanya's couch. After a short silence Five spoke up again, "When I jumped forward and got stuck in the future do you know what I saw?"
Vanya shook her head, Five turned his attention to Katherine. She shrugged her shoulders. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing, as far as I could tell I was the last person alive. I never figured out what killed the human race but I did find the date that it happened."
Five inhaled lightly, "The world ends in eight days and I have no idea how to stop it." Vanya and Katherine's eyes widened and they looked at each other.
In a whooshing sound three cups of steaming coffee appeared in front of them. Vanya chuckled lightly despite the heavy mood, "You read my mind, sis."
