  "Hey, what's going on?"

Vanya questioned as she walked into the study. She saw Katherine, Luther, Klaus, and Allison sitting at the bar arguing. They stopped talking when they heard her voice, turning around awkwardly. "It's a family matter." Allison explained and Katherine could tell that it'd struck a nerve in Vanya.

"A family matter." She parroted. "So of course you couldn't include me."

Katherine rolled her eyes and took a sip of her coffee as Luther tried to explain themselves. "And what are you rolling your eyes at, Katherine?" Vanya called her out making Katherine's eyebrows raise.

"Oh so now you're interested in me? Where the hell have you been these past few days, huh? Do you have any idea what I've been through?" Vanya scoffed. "Of course." She muttered time herself. "It's always about you!"

Katherine was taken aback by Vanya's sudden outburst which only added fuel to the fire crackling to life inside her. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?" She asked, putting her cup on the bar and walking up to her. Vanya looked up at Katherine with an unreadable look on her face, "Exactly what I said. Everything is always about you, Katherine. You never pay any mind to anyone else's troubles it's all me, me, me!"

Vanya stood her ground even when Katherine's eyes darkened with anger. Allison quickly began to walk over, "Look I'll fill you in when we're alone just don't– please don't argue." Her two sisters maintained their intense eye contact, not bothering to look at her.

"Please, please don't bother. And I won't either."

"Yeah," Katherine agreed. "Don't fucking tell her anything, since it's all about me I really don't give a damn if you're included in this or not." She sneered, deep in the back of her mind she wondered what had spurred Vanya to snap like that though she herself wasn't helping the situation.

"Vanya that's not fair." Allison took a step towards her sister, frowning when Vanya took a step back. "Fair?" She said, much more calmer now. "There's nothing fair about being your guys' sister." She spared a quick glance to Katherine, making the latter shrink a bit. "I've been left out of everything for as long as I can remember."

"That's bullshit! I try so hard with you Vanya and you know it! I've been here for you when no one else has, did that mean nothing to you?" Katherine snapped again, jabbing a finger into Vanya's shoulder harshly.

Vanya blatantly ignored Katherine and kept looking at Allison. "And I used to think it was dad's fault, but he's dead. So it turns out you're the assholes." During her final sentence she looked Katherine straight in the eyes before she turned around.

"Wow, I can't believe how fast you pulled that nonsense out of your ass!" The manipulator scoffed which made her sister turn around. "Who sat with you and listened while you played for the last twenty years? Who took you to Griddy's every year on our birthday because I know how much you love their donuts? And who came and slept over in the middle of the fucking night every time you had a nightmare?"

Katherine had managed to not completely lose her temper, though her voice was raised and the veins popped out in her neck. She suddenly took a deep breath and stood up straight watching as Vanya's eyes slowly began to brim with tears.

"Certainly not me though, because it's always about me, not anyone else."

Katherine crossed her arms over her chest in finality and watched as Vanya just walked away. Allison put her hand on her shoulder when Vanya left comfortingly and as much as Katherine appreciated it, she gently shrugged it off. "She wasn't even here when I got shot." The brunette whispered making her remaining siblings look at her sadly.

"Look I know that... uh, that whole thing was kinda deep and all but you guys are super close, I'm sure you'll bounce back." Klaus consoled, awkwardly giving his sister a thumbs up that made her chuckle softly. Katherine walked back over to the bar and took another drink of her, now cold, coffee.

For the next minute or so, Katherine watched silently as Diego fled to go after Cha-Cha and Hazel and Klaus left for reasons unknown to Katherine. Luther sighed as he watched Klaus leave, turning around to Allison. "Let me guess, you're gonna leave too?"

Allison gave him a sympathetic look. "I have to book a flight back to L.A. If this happens I have to be with my daughter, custody be damned. And you said it yourself... we need the full force of the Academy to even stand a chance. I'm sorry, Luther." With that, she walked off, leaving Katherine and Luther behind.

He turned to his sister who flashed him a beaming smile, despite all that had happened in the past five minutes. "Look, little brother, if you want I can help you out." She waved her hands around in the air, still smiling at him. Luther sighed but began to walk over to the couch and laid down comfortably. Katherine walked over and placed her index and middle fingers on his temples then closed her eyes.

The black mist flowed around Luther's head and he began to visibly relax. Katherine began to hum the tune their mother used to every time she cooked or baked, giving Luther pleasant memories of her. She showed him all the times Grace had given into Katherine and had a food fight in the kitchen, flour lodged in every nook and cranny.

She showed his the times she beat Pogo in chess– mostly by cheating– and the times she, Allison, and Vanya jumped on beds with hair brushes in their hands, belting out the wrong words to their favorite songs. She continued this for about five minutes, showing him memories she knew would make him happy and help him relax.

When he'd fallen asleep Katherine opened her eyes that were pitch black like her mist. She removed her hands and blinked a few times till they returned to their normal color, glancing down at Luther who was sleeping peacefully. The brunette pulled a blanket over him before quietly walking out of the study, happy to help Luther forget his troubles, even if it was temporary.

As she walked out she passed the glass container where the figurines rested but backtracked when she noticed something was off. For the longest time she stared at the mini versions of them but couldn't quite figure out what was wrong. With furrowed brows she continued on, her mind trying its hardest to find out what was wrong with that picture. In the midst of making herself another cup of coffee, Katherine dropped her glass making a deafening noise as it shattered but she didn't care.

She suddenly realized that the problem was one of the figurines was missing. Her dad's figurine specifically, but the questions of why and who took it still remained.
