"Bro what the fuck—"

"Hush Kat, go with the flow." Five chuckled to himself as he stumbled into Katherine's room while accidentally slamming the door behind him. She gave him a dirty look but made no attempt to kick him out.

He threw himself on the bed beside her and made himself comfortable. Katherine turned her head to see him leaning against the headboard, a cocky smile on his face. Katherine looked back at the tv that was playing a telenovela and she mindlessly turned on the captions for Five.

He moved to lay on his stomach like her and rested his head on his arms while kicking his feet up behind him and swinging them around. They sat in silence for half of an episode before Five spoke up, "Did you quit your job?"

Katherine gave him a surprised look, "You think I went through four years of school, five years of residency, and another for fellowship just to quit?"

Five scoffed, "I didn't ask you to brag about the fact that you got into med school and didn't fail, Kat."

She merely shrugged and focused her attention back on the tv screen. "No, I didn't quit. I'm on maternity leave!" She said excitedly and Five's eyes widened like saucers as his mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water.

"Hold the fuck up, maternity leave?! I don't remember putting a bun in your oven and I know damn well you didn't let some random loser do my job for me—"

She watched as his eyes traveled to her stomach as he silently wondered how he could miss such a big thing—

"I'm not actually pregnant, stupid. I just made them think I was so I could get three months off without using up my vacation time. But I guess that won't really matter if the world ends." She said the last part quietly.

Five rolled over onto his back while rubbing his hands over his face in disbelief. "And besides, you're getting a little ahead of yourself there, aren't you?" She scowled at him, poking a nail into his stomach. "C'mon now Kat, be reasonable," he was back to his normal self in no time. "With my dashing good looks and your, uh, whatever it is you have going for you," he teased, laughing when she hit him upside the head.

"I'm kidding! I'm kidding! With both of our beautiful looks and your brains we could make the best batch of tiny humans the world has ever seen." He was quiet for a few seconds as he stared off into space, daydreaming.

Katherine admired while he was off in la la land but said nothing more. When Five finally came back to reality Katherine spoke up. "You know you've been a real pain in my ass ever since you came back." He furrowed his eyebrows and his heart seemed to drop but when he looked at her she didn't seem mad.

She wasn't upset, she wasn't mad, and as far as he could tell there was no grudge. In fact she had a small smile on her face and looked amused to see the slight panic on his face. "You can calm down now, dumbass."

Five rolled his eyes at her then flipped her off playfully; the both of them staring at each other with the television as background noise. Katherine took the time to appreciate how beautiful his eyes were and suddenly Five's eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Why'd you turn your eyes green?"

She smiled proudly though she had been completely unaware that she'd changed their color. "I want eyes like yours."

"A little too Jeepers Creepers for me there, Kat." She shoved his shoulder and rolled her now brown eyes at him.

"Shut up!" Katherine laughed genuinely before settling down and getting comfortable on her side. Five snatched the remote and turned the tv off then gestured for her to turn music on to which Katherine pointed a finger towards her CD player.

He could faintly hear the sounds of Romeo Santos and felt a nice wave of calm rush over him no doubt thanks to Katherine. "Thank you for that." He murmured, appreciating the fact that he could finally relax even if it was just for a night.

"No worries." She whispered back. Five smiled at her lovingly as they continued to sit and gaze at each other.

Katherine's heart picked up when Five began to lean closer slowly and she found herself doing the same.

Eres mi Diosa y yo hasta por ti muero.

Five mouthed the words to the song with a smile before gently kissing Katherine. She felt a combination of comfort and butterflies erupt in her stomach, pulling away only when she finally needed to breathe. Katherine shot across the bed when a very stoned Klaus barged into her room, not sober enough to realize what he had interrupted.

"Kitty!" He smiled so wide his eyes nearly disappeared. "Boy do I have a story to tell you!" He giggles and collapsed onto her bed, nodding to Five before patting his side so she would come sit.

Katherine couldn't make eye contact with Five and desperately wanted to crawl in a whole out of awkwardness. The boy stood and quickly left Katherine's room to go wherever it was he went at night and left Katherine to deal with their brother.

She sighed and decided that she would deal with that later (she wouldn't) and took a seat beside Klaus. Katherine figured she'd be in for a long story and made herself comfortable.

"Alrighty then, tell me your story."
