My first day of classes was as amazing as I thought it would be.

I had potions first up with Gryffindors, which meant the boys were in my class so I wasn't completely alone.

Severus had partnered up with a girl from Gryffindor with flaming red hair but it seemed like they already knew each other.

James grabbed Lupin as his partner, knowing he would carry him throughout the year and Sirius, upon freaking out about being partnered with Peter, grabbed me as I was about to go with a fellow Slytherin. I did tell him he was to pull his weight and that I wasn't failing this class.

Professor Slughorn who was Slytherins head, also taught potions, and I already knew that he had a special club for those who succeeded exceptionally, as well as clearly chose favourites.

I had heard all of that just from whisperings in my common room.

Since it was the first class of the year we weren't going to be doing prac straight away but rather writing down everything we needed to know beforehand, and I needed to show off to Slughorn to get that extra credit.

"Now the first potion we will be learning this year is the cure for boils. We will attempt to make it once we have covered the theory of it." Dlughorn announced.

I perked up at the information. Of course I knew what we would be doing since Teal made me read the course books, but I did love my potion making.

"Now who can tell me the ingredients?"

I shot my hand up straight away as did the red head sitting with Severus.

I got nervous that she would be picked but luckily for me Slughorn would always be biased and picked me.

"Miss?" He asked.

"Lyra Kentauros, sir." I answered.

He nodded and gestured for me to continue on with my answer.

"The cure for boils is a beginner potion which removes said boils, such as those produced by the pimple jinx. If made successfully a pink smoke will rise from the cauldron. To produce said successful cure for boils potion you will need these ingredients." I took a deep breath, ready to list.

"Snake fangs, pungeous onions, dried nettles, flobberworm mucus, powdered ginger root, shrake spines, horned slugs and porcupine quills, sir." I finished, feeling flustered for talking for so long.

As I looked around the room everyone's jaws were dropped even the red head with her hand up.

I turned to Sirius to ask why everyone was like that but he was exactly the same.

Slughorn cleared his throat, "That was very in depth, did you happen to memorise that or have it written down in front of you?"

I shook my head quickly, denying cheating.

How ridiculous.

"No sir, I enjoy potions and I have known this potion like the back of my hand since I was five sir."

He nodded and spoke again. "Alright if you claim this then lets test your knowledge."

I grinned at the challenge.

"Where can you find a Bezoar stone?' He asked.

"In a goats stomach." I replied back easily.

"What is it most commonly used for?"

"An antidote for common poisons."

He started to pace and started to up it a little more. "What colour is a sleeping draught?"

I smiled at how easy this was, "Purple."

"What is the sleeping draught sister?"

"Easy, the draught of living death." He nodded.

"Name a potion that a moonstone will be used in?" I grinned knowing that he didn't expect for me to know this stuff especially since it was fifth year level.

"Draught of peace sir." Shocked he kept going.

"What is the proper name of the potion called liquid luck?" Chuckling I replied, "Felix felicis."

"What do you smell when amortentia is brewed?"

"Whatever you love the most." He cleared his throat again.

"Alright if you get this one right I will be damned right impressed, what did Nicholas Flammel create?"

Surprised by the question I still knew the answer, "The Philosopher stone sir."

He sat down at his chair shocked and started to clap. "Well done my dear, I am looking forward to seeing what kind of witch you become."

Looking around the room everyone was shocked of what just happened, but when the bell rung everyone was out the door as fast as they could possibly be, the boys surrounded me.

"That was amazing!" Sirius exclaimed.

I laughed nudging his shoulder, "It was all pretty easy anyways." I shrugged it off like it was nothing because it wasn't really a big deal but Sirius had other ideas and ran in front of me and got on his knees.

"Bless me with your children m'lady." He started to bow to me, I laughed at how foolish he was and grabbed his shoulders stopping him "I can't promise children but how about some chocolate frogs."

I reached into my pocket pulling out one handing it to him.

"Thank you m'lady this will feed my family for a month." He cried acting stupid.

I laughed and walked off leaving him behind.

The rest of the day went very fast and once dinner was over astronomy began, my final class for the day and it was with Ravenclaw which I was happy about to see Teal.

We laid with each other on the floor of the tower looking up at the sky naming every constellation that I could see in the sky (the Professer was once again impressed) and after the class was over I headed straight to bed.

It had been a really big day.

And then like the first day, the rest of the year flew by like a blink of an eye.
