Fourty-one

Cameron POV

It's been hours and neither me nor Jan heard from Mark, it's not like him to just not come home. I tried  his cell multiple times but he didn't answer and Jan has done the same but still no answer.

We searched everywhere his recent job his current lovers house we searched the park but he was no where to be found. It was going on eight thirty so I decided it would be best if I stayed the night here.

After searching I took us to the store and got some snacks and food to cook for dinner, Jan looked to be in a trance she was deep in thought, that she was throwing random things in the cart.

"Bae you ight?" I asked stopping in front of her breaking her from the trance. "I'm okay, I just miss my brother" she laid her  head on my shoulder and began to cry uncontrollably, I  went to buy the groceries and we left.

___At Jan's house__

I helped Jan get out her clothes and I laid her on the sofa while I cooked dinner, she was watching Spongebob and that seemed to make her feel better.

I made us some fried shrimp,hushpuppies and made us some Mexican corn bread. I sat the plate in front of her and she began to eat only the hushpuppies and she went to sleep. I scoffed down my food like it was my last, I  cleaned up the kitchen  wrapped up the leftoxver food and sat down on the couch next to a sleeping Januari.

I never noticed before but when she slept she had her thumb in her mouth she looked like a a little baby. I picked her up and  carried her upstairs to her bedroom and tucked her into bed.

I  kissed her and fell asleep right next her cradled in my arms.

I hope they found her brother soon..
