~*~*~*

It had been a few years - about fifteen years. I'd been living in New York City. I liked it there, there was a lot of prey here. However, I'm the only vampire in New York, which made me a Master Vampire - a vampire who's in charge of a specific area. I never let my prey survive my feedings. I burn the bodies. I drank human blood, and my eyes darkened from the bright crimson to a dark red that mimicked the colour of blood easily. My prey was never an innocent human, I made sure that they were monsters - rapists, murderers, loan sharks, child molesters, abusers. The real scum of the Earth, the ones who deserved the most painful death possible.

I had cut my hair when I left Forks. Long hair reminded me of them, of my old life. Sometimes, I think about the Cullens. I think about a specific girl who was short and had short dark hair. I thought of Rosalie, too. And, sometimes, I thought of Emmett. It made me sad to think of them, of the only friends I'd actually had... to think that I'd lost them.

I was feeding when I heard a throat being cleared from behind me. I hissed lowly and turned around. There was a boy who looked to be about sixteen with pale skin, crimson red eyes, and dark brown hair that was cut in a Justin Bieber-type hairstyle. He was about my height, and a vampire who had my diet. Not a Cullen. The thought disappointed me, non-surprisingly. I'd tried to look for them, but I couldn't find them.

My prey was still alive, but couldn't scream, he was in too much pain when I looked at the clearly older vampire. I was hesitant, he was on my turf.

"May I help you?" I hissed.

"Have you heard of the Volturi?" He asked me immediately.

"Of course. They're our royalty... why?" I asked, hesitantly.

"I am Alec. I am a part of the Volturi. You were turned by someone in the Volturi, making you of Volterra blood. You have been called back to Italy." The boy told me.

"Why should I come with you?" I said, looking at him hesitantly.

"Because your true family needs you." Alec told me lightly, losing all business in his voice.

"Okay..." I said after a moment of thinking. I was growing tired of being alone, anyways, and New York was starting to dry up on the bastards I fed from. I'd needed to leave, so I figured why not leave and become part of royalty, basically.

"We shall leave now." Alec stated firmly.

"First, let me finish feeding. Then, I have to go home and pack my clothes." I smiled sweetly. He nodded after rolling his blood red eyes. I then sunk my teeth back into my prey.
