Brook Evans

~*~*~*

It had been three months, and Alice and I were close now. We were best friends, and I liked her a lot. Sometimes, I imagined kissing her. But, that wasn't right. It-it was unholy. Mother and Father would never love me if I told them I was thinking of kissing a girl. Mother and Father would never accept me if I told them I was imagining spending my life with a girl. Mother and Father would disown me if I told them I was feeling attracted to a girl. But, I liked boys too! I didn't know what I was. Well, I knew what I was; confused.

I inhaled deeply, getting into my car. On the corner of my windshield, I had a small picture of Alice, Rose, Em, and I. It was a tiny picture, but it was taken the month after I came to Forks. I smiled as I started the car, not looking at it as I drove.

It was lunchtime that day, and Brook sat with us. As usual, she didn't sit beside me. She sat beside Rosalie and Emmett. Don't get me wrong, Brook and I were very close, but she rarely ever sat beside me. Edward wouldn't tell me anything about why she didn't like to sit beside me, but anytime we were around her, he looked at her with worry.

"So, what's everyone's plans for the weekend?" Brook asked in her beautiful and light and airy voice.

"We were going to see that new Jennifer Lawrence movie. Do you want to come with us?" Rose asked. Then, I was sucked into a vision.

I was in a dark room, a theater screen playing. It was the night we were to be watching the movie, I noted. I sat there with only one person there - Brook. My family was not there. They'd obviously set this up.

Brook's hand was open, palm up, on her arm rest. I bit my bottom lip and held her hand gently. She looked over at me with something I could only imagine as fear in her eyes.

"A-Alice... I-I..." she stuttered, looking at me. I smiled at her gently. She smiled back. On a roll, I slowly leaned forward. I could almost taste her lips. It didn't take too long until I felt her warm and soft lips on mine. I was so into the kiss that I didn't hear a light camera noise coming from behind us.

I grinned a bit in current time.

"I'd love to come." Brook said happily.
