Brook Evans

Alec stood close to me, guiding me through Volterra castle. We walked through the castle, silent. I was thinking of the ride there, how... honest Alec had been. It had surprised me. Most of the other vampires I'd met were major liars, but Alec? He was honest.

It made me think of the time I'd met the Mexican coven - Maria and her mate Benito, as well as their army. I'd been looking for the Cullens, hoping to see Alice again. That was when I was stupid to think I could be safe around her, she was a human. I ate humans, and I was new. One of the vampires from Maria's army saw me, then kidnapped me. After I'd fought with her, Maria let me go. She may have been older, but I was still a Newborn with my new strength. I threatened that I'd destroy her and her mate, and she let me go fairly easily.

Alec and I entered a huge room that was almost completely empty - with only a few dark oak tables with flowers on them, a few paintings, and three thrones. My shoes tapped against the marble floors, and the noise echoed through the huge room.

"Masters, I have brought our sister and your daughter." Alec stated. I looked at him, reading if he was being honest. Of course, he was.

"Ah, yes! You must be the girl Jane changed. I am Master Aro, and you shall refer to me as Master. This is Caius and Marcus, your other Masters. This Jane, our second-in-command guard and your Sire. And of course you have already met Alec, Jane's twin brother?" The tall man in the middle with long dark hair, crimson eyes, pale skin, and a baby face said.

"Hello, Aro. I mean you no disrespect, but I refuse to call you Master. It makes me sound like a slave and I will not be a slave to another man." I said strongly, my eyes growing cold and stern. Not again. Never again.

"You disobey my orders, girl?" Aro asked strongly, his face twisting in rage - you could basically feel the anger radiating off of him.

"Aro, I was abused as a mortal. I will not be abused as an immortal, as well." I stated, shrugging, prepared to take them down and escape.

"What is your name?" He asked, less angry, but now in shock.

"Brook Evans. I was Forks, Washington's Priest's daughter. Pleasure." I said sarcastically. He smiled and chuckled a bit.

"You are from Forks?" He asked curiously.

"Yes, sir." I nodded simply.

"Hmm... you will not refer to me as Master. Simply as Aro. I much like you." Aro stated, smiling.

"Alright, Aro." I nodded.

"Alec, Jane, show Brook to her room. She shall be on the guard." Aro smiled.

"Yes, her gift of Honesty will help us very much." Caius added.

"Pardon me?" I raised a brow, looking at the blond man.

"Some vampires are Born with a gift. You were Born with one, a rare one called Honesty. You can tell if people are telling you the truth." Caius stated. I nodded and smirked a bit. Oh, if only Mother and Father could see me now.

"C'mon, Brook. Let's go." Alec led me out, taking my hand.

Aro Volturi

I did not know the new girl very well, but she was very beautiful and she was bold, different. I had never met a woman like her in my entire existence.

She challenged me in a way that no one else did. She smelled amazing; like flowers. I had to have her. Had to have her in my arms, in my bed, on my tongue. I needed her.

I would have her, I decided in that exact moment as I watched Alec guide my future bride to her quarters.
