Chapter One

No Way Out

My name is Cameron Primus-Woods, I am 15 years old turning 16, a Scavenger in training, close to my first mission. My sister Blaire Primus was according to Kavanaugh and Dempsey, one of the best Scavengers, even though she died on her first mission, but now I know the real reason why, I was 13 when they told me. Now that I know that Blaire is alive, I have been waiting for years for her to walk through the doors, it's been almost 6 years. My specialty skills are combat and sniper so far and my 10 year old sister, Savannah Primus-Woods, we're all that we have now, but right now what I'm doing is for Blaire, my parents, my family and more. I changed my last name from Primus to Woods because it seems like it made more sense for Kavanaugh and Dempsey to call me by my other last name Woods and Savannah by Primus. I was walking by one of the combat classes and saw Savannah going up against someone for fun, I walked in,"Hey!" She looked and got taken down, she groaned and went up to me,"Nice going jerk!" I chuckled as she pushed,"Hey you need to get your head in the game no matter what, they'll try to psych ya out" I tapped her head and she slapped it away,"Stop it Cameron"
"Who's Cameron? I'm not Cameron, I'm a Raider and I am not gonna stop doing this, whatcha gonna do about it huh? Huh?" I put her in a lock and she put her legs around my neck and punched me down,"Proud of ya little sister" I got out of the lock and stood up,"Keep your head in the game, no distractions, got that?" She nodded,"And use that combat skill for good, not for evil"
"Promise" I smiled as I walked out and saw Fynn,"Yo Cam" I turned around,"Look at this beauty" He pulled it out and it was fucking awesome,"No way"
"And guess who is that for?" I shook my head,"Nah man" He nudged,"It's your birthday, okay just take it" It was a crossbow and I thanked him,"Any word on Primus?" Fynn asked and I shook my head,"Nada, but they're on a lookout for her and Howell, how's Marilyn doing?"
"She's in training right now with Kieran and Brooklyn" I asked him of what they were doing,"Resource"
"Oh okay"
"May I ask why?"
"You two were with my older sister and I want her to see you guys when she comes here" He corrected me by saying if,"You know her, I know her, she can survive out there" The moment I found out that my older sister was alive, it was one of the greatest news that I have ever heard, this actually made me want to push myself even more than I thought I could,"Yeah I guess you're right, I mean she has Dylan and those two were getting pretty close, who knows how they look now, I mean it's been almost 6 years"
"They're okay, I'm sure"

Blaire POV
I was lying there with my eyes open and the door opened,"Get up" I couldn't, it felt like I really couldn't,"The catatonic act isn't working Blaire, we know you can move" I got up and groaned,"Where are we going to this time Bruce?"
"I don't know Blaire, but Nyra wants us up right now" I changed my shirt, I walked by the big opening of our bunker, Courtney was out there, tied to the pole

"Let us go you fucking bitch! You do not deserve to be leader!" We were caught trying to let us go,"You can't keep us caged in like this, you can't!"
"Courtney calm down! They aren't gonna let us out when you're yelling!"
"How are you fucking calm when they shot Missy?! They fucking shot her! Heartless bastards! Let us go!" She started sobbing and Dylan knocked on the door,"Dylan? What are you doing here?" He snuck in food for us,"They told me to check on you and I snuck some food for you"
"Thank you" We pecked and locked hands,"I'll see if I can get you guys out of here, I thought it was you that was yelling"
"You could hear her?"
"From the other end of the hallway" Courtney was panting,"Why were you guys escaping? You know Gwen, Nolan, Javier and I are planning this for all of us" I sighed,"We can't take it anymore, I have a brother and sister to get to, they can't keep us here forever you know" He nodded and looked down,"I'm getting tired of us meeting like this"
"I hate it too"
"Dylan!" We let go,"What the hell are they doing now?" Footsteps were getting louder and it was her,"So you guys calmed down when he came along?"
"It was only me you fucking bitch"
"I'm your superior, you can't talk to me that way" She looked over,"And why shouldn't I? You took us without our permission, you can't keep a group this way forever because it's going to break and where is Chloe?"
"She'll be fine, so far" I banged on the door,"I'm only trying to help you" Courtney got up and walked over,"No you're not"
"And how would you know about being a leader, Blaire and Dylan know the struggles" She looked at him and I,"They're better leaders than you" Nyra smirked and looked away,"Take her to the RZR room, maybe she'll know better not to talk to her leader that way" RZR is Razor room meaning it's the punishment room and it is terrible, Dylan sighed and came in,"Courtney it's okay" She looked at him in the eye and swiped his gun from him, tried to shoot herself in the head, but it wasn't loaded,"Courtney!" He put her in a lock and then one thing lead to another, she died and her last words were,"I'm not going back" It was a suicide, Nyra had me out of the cell,"Let them have their fun" I looked over at her and tried not to say anything. Javier didn't take the news lightly, as a matter of fact, it was bad when Nyra said awful things about her,"You had every opportunity to kill her, but you didn't because she was a Healer, not a Rider, you needed her for when someone scrapes a fucking elbow, you were using her and she knew, this isn't a group, this is a prison
