While they were still kissing, they heard a loud crashing sound, not very far from them. When they pulled apart, they saw themselves surrounded by a number of people. Loki knew who they were from his visit to the temporary Shield base, but to Carene, they were just... strangers dressed in strange costumes.

"Sorry folks, party's over. And for you raindeer games, shows over. Surrender now and we won't hurt you."

"What? Who the hell are you?" It was Carene who spoke.

"That would be iron man. He's working with Shield now- the people in your dream. That would be Steve Rogers. That sanely dressed fellow over there is Dr. Bruce Banner. And that..." Loki paused and smiled sarcastically. "Would be my oaf of a brother, Thor"

"Always a pleasure, Loki"

When Carene raised an eyebrow at Loki, he explained further, "I had paid a visit to shield when I disappeared on you."

"Oh!" Carene said with realisation.

"What the heck is happening?" Asked a confused Rogers.

"Yeah, are you just going to lay your plans honestly before her now?" Asked Banner.

"Oh, yes about that" Carene spoke up. "We're on the same side now."

"Oh yeah? And what side might that be? Look Careney, I don't know what he's playing at. But he isn't the lover boy he's pretending to be. So I suggest you move out of the way, so we can arrest him and wrap this up quickly. I'd like to be home for dinner, I'm hungry." It was Stark speaking.

"I'm not moving"

"MOVE!"

"NO!"

"Hey, watch this", Loki whispered into Carene's ear just as Rogers approached him from the back and attacked him with his shield. But his shield and hand passed right through Loki as though he were thin air, which he was. Carene laughed heartily. She saw Loki a little ways from the group, standing behind a pillar, grinning widely. He winked at her.

Being distracted, Carene did not notice the two figures approaching her until they were too close. She recognised them instantly from her dream and took off in the opposite direction, only to crash into another woman whom she didn't recognise. The woman instantly cuffed her as Barton and Romanoff came up behind her.

"Hey Carene. We're extremely sorry for this. You probably don't know who we are but..." Romanoff spoke

Carene cut her off, "Oh, I know you alright! Agents of shield! Like I'm supposed to know what that is! You erased my memory! It is because of you that I have absolutely no recollection of who I am! I see you...every night as you hold me down and hurt me! I used to trust you! How could you?! I HATE YOU!"

All three of them had pained expressions on their faces. The words she uttered cut them deeply. They did not want to do this, especially to someone whom they loved so dearly.
