Carene had contacted Mia and Alex, immediately after she was accepted as an Avenger. They had been extremely worried about her when she had not returned and had been on their way to filing a missing person's report when she called them. She told them that she was safe and so was Lesley. She promised to tell them everything as soon as they would be able to meet, but that would not happen for some time since she and Lesley were caught up with something very important.

For weeks on end the avengers- including Carene and Loki had sat together, planning and strategizing against an imminent Chitauri attack. Loki knew and understood them very well. He was able to provide the avengers with very useful information. Soon enough, they had it all covered. They were ready.

When the Chitauri finally came, the avengers were waiting for them. The Chitauri weren't expecting it and were defeated without much difficulty. The Chitauri leader had perished in the attack.

Carene learnt to suppress her powers when she wasn't using them. Loki knew how to disguise himself as- Lesley. That being done, they returned to being volunteers for calamity victims when they weren't fighting alongside the Avengers.

Carene told Mia and Alex everything that had come to pass and they understood and accepted Loki with open arms. But to everybody else, they remained Lesley and Carene: volunteers for calamity victims.

2 years later.....

Carene opened her eyes. She was in a big white bed, an arm wrapped around her, protectively. She turned around to face her husband. He was still asleep. His bare chest rising and falling rhythmically. She smiled mischievously and thought of something. She began kissing him to wake him up. First his cheek, then his jawline, then his chin.

"Hey Car.." he said in his sleepy voice, "you forgot my lips"

She giggled, recollecting something very similar that had passed between them so long ago. She happily gave in to his request, relishing his taste. He pulled her on top of him and wrapped his arms around her waist, trapping her there.

"Hey!" She protested.

"That's what you get for disturbing my sleep!"

She giggled once again. He continued kissing her. She kissed him back.

Finally they broke apart.

"Come on! We're going to be late!" She said getting out of his grasp and off the bed.

He frowned, "For what?"

"Today's the day Loki! How could you forget?!"

He groaned. How had she ever gotten him to agree to this.

The next thing he knew was that he was in Asgard, dressed in his princely outfit. Carene was on his arm wearing a long, flowing green gown complementing his green and black attire, looking beautiful as always. Thor was by his side, wearing his customary outfit too. They walked into the great hall. All the chatter died down as soon as they entered.

Odin was sitting on a high chair, at the end of the hall, facing them. Frigga stood beside him.

When Thor, Loki and Carene reached Odin. Thor greeted them,

"Mother, Father" he said nodding at each of them once.

Loki looked at Odin once and nodded respectfully though he remained silent.
