It was dark outside now. Henrik was probably gonna head home soon. That thought made me a bit sad, this day had been... amazing. So much better than when we went to Java's. A hundred times better than that. I would never forget it.
I was still in the warmth of Henrik's arms. I looked up at him and let out a breathy chuckle, "It's getting a little chilly..."
"It is." He replied and met my gaze, "Do you want to go?"
"I don't want to, but I probably should."
He looked away for a second to think, but I kept my eyes on him. It was a few seconds before he looked back at me. "Would it be okay if-... I stayed at yours tonight..?"
Without hesitation, I nodded. "Yeah, that's okay. What about Lea though?"
He sighed, his breath visible in the cold air. "I'll let her know."
I bit the inside of my cheek and nodded as I tried to hold back a smile. Did that mean this night wasn't gonna end yet?
Right after that, we got up and decided to walk back to his place. He went inside, grabbed his keys and took his car to my house. There wasn't anything mentioned about him talking to Lea while he was inside, so I wasn't sure if he did- but I decided not to ask.
It wasn't a long drive back to my place. When we got there, I opened the door and took off my jacket, hanging it on a coat rack by the door. Henrik did the same and we both kicked off our shoes.
"Can I get changed in your room really quick?" He asked.
"Go ahead." I replied and he left the room. I walked over to my fridge, grabbing a couple beers and a pack of cigarettes that were laying on my countertop.
A few minutes later, I walked over to my bedroom and knocked on the door, "Hey, can I come in?"
"Yeah," The door was opened and he was in more comfortable clothing, probably what he was sleeping in.
I showed him the beer, wiggling it in my hands with a smirk before plopping down on my bed. He raised his eyebrows and I patted down on the bed beside me, which he soon sat down. I handed him a beer and grabbed a lighter from my nightstand drawer.
I tossed the lighter next to the pack of cigarettes that laid on my bed for later, then popped the cap off of my bottle before chugging down a good portion of the drink, it burning my throat slightly. Henrik did the same as well, except he only drank small sips at a time.
He set his beer down and grabbed a cigarette. Once he lit it, he laid down, his head on my pillow and blew out smoke. I copied his actions and laid down beside him.
He turned his head to face me and offered me his cig, which I accepted by grabbing it and placing it in my own mouth. I breathed in the smoke, it made me let out a small cough.
"You haven't been sober since you turned 18, huh?" Henrik grinned, which I returned.
"I mean- if you want to put it that way..." I joked, receiving a loud laugh from him.
"I really wouldn't be surprised."
I reached over, putting the cig in Henrik's mouth for him. Once he breathed in, i pulled back, letting him blow out the smoke before handing it back.
"Are you trying to recreate the Isak and Even smoking scene?" He asked, trying to hold back another smile and doing a terrible job.
"If i was trying to recreate that scene, we'd be upside down making out right now." I said and raised an eyebrow at him.
"I know if you had the chance, you would."
His words caused me to stiffen. I furrowed my eyebrows at him, then shifted over so I was laying on my back and looking up at the ceiling, purposely avoiding his eyes.
"In your dreams." I scoffed, trying to not show how nervous his comment actually made me.
He laughed and looked up at the ceiling as well.
It went silent after that. I thought he would keep teasing me, or at least say something, but he didn't. He just stared off into space and smoked. He barely drank his drink, unlike me. I was practically chugging mine.
I downed part of my beer, trying my best to get that scene of Isak and Even out of my head. I remember filming that, every little detail. The laughs exchanged, the smoke pooling into my lungs, Henrik's lips against my own. It was all acting, though. That's what I kept telling myself. I couldn't get in over my head.
I glanced at him a few times throughout our smoking session, I guess because I was worried at how quiet he was, he was clearly deep in thought. I wanted him to talk to me, tell me how he was feeling, speak his mind.
The silence was interrupted when he sighed, catching my attention. "Lea is not gonna be happy with me tonight."
I turned my head to face him.
His eyes were glued to the ceiling, "It's hard to be understanding with her if she can't be understanding with me." He met my gaze, "You know?"
"I think you should tell her that." I whispered. "Exactly what you just told me."
"I wish it was that easy." He let out a small laugh, "Everything I say is wrong to her, no matter how right it is."
I stayed quiet, just focusing on him instead of trying to help- because to be quite honest, I didn't know how to anymore.
"It'll work itself out." I reassured, my voice meek and barely audible.
"You think?"
"Yeah, I do."
And that was true. I really did believe it would work out between them, but that didn't mean I was happy about it. I've met Lea, she's a nice girl- but something about her and Henrik being together just consumed me with jealousy. Who am I kidding, they've been dating for years. Even if I did have feelings for Henrik, which I don't- at least I don't think I do, he would never leave Lea for me. They had been together for far too long. She meant so much more than me to him.
He smiled at me and put the cig back in his mouth, breathing in the smoke and blowing it out afterwards. I just watched his movements closely, trying my best not to show the disappointment I felt at my thoughts.
