UCLA. A college I’ve been wanting to go to since my early teens. A college I’m now attending and constantly think it’s a dream. My eyes were wide and took everything in when I first got to LA. Stomach filled with jitters and nerves as I took a grand tour around the campus a couple days before class even started.
The girl I’m rooming with, Madi, is pretty nice. We’re similar in a lot of ways, and I found myself lucky to have been randomly picked with her.
This’ll be the best four years of my life…

I pack my books into my bag, glancing at the clock every couple of minutes as I try to give myself enough time to get to class at least fifteen minutes early.
“When’s your last class?” Madi asks as she sits up on her bed, running a hand through her messy hair.
I unlock my phone, checking my schedule before looking towards her. “Three. Wanna get a late lunch?” I ask her, and she nods while giving me a tired grin.
“Yeah, absolutely. You can tell me all about the cute boys in your classes,” she gives me a wink while lying back down.
I roll my eyes, chuckling softly as I nod. “Sure, maybe. If there are any cute guys,” I tell her, and she scoffs.
“Please. It’s LA. There’s gonna be cute boys,” Madi mentions with a duh tone in her voice.
“Fine, fine. I guess you’re right on that one,” I mutter while sliding the straps of my bag onto my shoulders. “I’ll see you later.”
I make it to my Beginning Voice Class, licking my lips a bit as I step into the classroom. No one else was here yet, and I let out a breath of relief. I take a seat in the middle of the room, grabbing a notebook from my bag and setting it on the table.
“Dude, no, this chick was like so clearly flirting with me it’s ridiculous,” a voice speaks, and I lift my head up, seeing two guys walking into the room.
My cheeks flush a bit at the two gorgeously breathtaking guys that took a seat behind me. I can feel my stomach churn with nerves, clearing my throat a bit before returning my attention to my phone.
“So, what? She’s hot,” the other guys mentions, and I roll my eyes. Welp…
“Yeah, but she’s got no personality whatsoever. I could never be with someone like that. Plus, we literally just got to this school. She’s clearly looking to hook up,” the first guy tells him, and I close my eyes, trying to block out their conversation.
Silence fills the room as I can feel eyes burning into my back. A few more people have quietly made their way into the room as class starts in three minutes.
