UNVEILING THE MASK (Sequence 2)

CHAPTER 2

ALEJANDRO'S POV

I didn't make a sound nor did I struggle with them after they covered my face with a black cloth. I remained calm as they drove me to an unknown destination.. 
The car came to halt and someone  removed the  black cloth from my face..
I was escorted by five armed men and led to a black Acura MDX...
A lady in her late fourties stepped down elegantly...
"Good day ma'am" I greeted her in my most courageous voice....
"I hope my men didn't pull a stunt on you on your way here..." She asked me after dismissing the armed men who escorted me here..
"Nothing too much for me to handle..." I said proudly..
"I like your accent... You're indeed a fearless man.." She praised me....
"You must be the new mayors wife.. Mrs Valdez.."
"Yes boy... You're also quite intelligent for you to have recognised me so easily.. You must have an idea on why I arranged this meeting in such quick notice.." She said as she walked away from her car while I trail behind her..
"Yes.. But I don't understand why you're interested in my case..." I asked curiously..
She laughed before answering me
"We have something in common.." She said with a mischievous smile..
'Something in common' i asked myself.. What could that be?? She brought two photographs from her hand bag and handed it over to me..
My heart burned with anger as i stared at Bill's and Emilia's photographs..It felt like i was shot in the same spot that i was stabbed.. Due to my ill temper, I squeezed their photographs imagining it was their neck i was straggling..
"You're indeed the perfect patner i need for this job.. Together we'll take revenge.." she said and i clenched my fist..
"What do you want in return..?" i asked grinding my teeth..
"I want Anna's head on a silver plate with her favourite picture attached to her corpse" she said with so much venom but i stared at her confused..
"Who is Anna.." i whispered to myself but she seems to have heard me and she laughed at me..
"Anna is Emilia.. Her full name was Anna Smith.. That's all you have to know for now.. The other neccessary information about her and her family background will be sent to you later.."
"why do you want her dead.."
"you'll figure out the answer to that question when the time comes" she said with an evil smile
"in the mean time you have to go back to prison and be of good behaviour.. Most importantly avoid any complicating issues like fighting.. You'll hear from me this time next week.." she said and snapped her fingers.. Few minutes later two guards appeared..
"Stay safe" she smiled at me as one of the guards covered my face and took me away..

EDWARDO'S POV

After i left Mia, I went back to my house but my mind continued to wrestle with my head as several question flowed in mind which i failed woefully to provide an answer to.. I felt restless and helpless at the same time..
So i decided to drive back to my father's mansion..
'What could be the reason behind bill's return..' I asked myself repeatedly.. My brother will never agree to divorce Mia due to his greed for wealth and power..and also because he knows that am in love with Mia. How he got to know I can't tell.
I mean I've been trying to conceal what I feel for my partner in crime but it somehow got to him.
I know he'll go to any length and apply any measure to make sure she's never mine even if it means killing her or me.. What's his problem. He is so insecure and it gets worse when he sees us together. Maybe because we look good together. Lol. I'm not crazy ok.
To him all is fair in love and war.. But i'll never let him win this time.. I'll protect Mia even with my dying breath. Don't blame me ok, because I've tried to stop myself from feeling this way but to no avail. I even travelled for sometime to hook up other ladies but my heart only yearns for Mia.
I followed through the tunnels to Mia's room.. I walked quietly into her bedroom.. She was laying akwardly on her couch.. So i decided to carry her to the bed..
I lifted her off from the couch and she snuggled closer to me.. Holding me tight.. I carried her to the bed and layed her gently.. She opened her eyes and stared at me in awe..
"Ardo" she whispered my name.. I sat close to her as i played with her hair.. Though my mind is crowded with several thoughts..  I couldn't stop myself from been turned on..
'Control yourself' i said.. She rolled closer to me and placed her head on my lap..
"Ardo.. You came back" she whispered with a little smile curving her lips..
"Yes.. I came back for you.. I want to make sure you're fine but.." i couldn't muster the courage to finish my statement..
"You're turned on.."she laughs slightly.. I nod my head in agreement..
"I don't want to leave you but i can't control myself for long." I whispered and tangled my hand in her hair.. I pressed her body closer to mine..
"Why do you always lose control when you are alone with me.." she asked me.. Her gaze daring me to speak the truth..
"I don't know.. Maybe because you're a very irresistable woman.." she laughed and i joined her in laughter.. She yawned and closed her eyes..
"I'll watch over you.. Sleep peacefully mia" i whispered..
Suddenly we heard the huge doors loudly swung open..
Mia became alert as she sat up.. The footsteps became louder as it seemed to be coming to Mia's room..
"Sweetheart.." Bill called out.. Shit.. We're trapped..
I stared at Mia but she wasn't feeling disturbed about it..
