CHAPTER 18

EDWARDO'S P.O.V

Shit! Did she just call his name? A guy who took away her company and is planning her downfall? A dude she has tried so much to protect even to the extent of trying to hide it from me. Someone that don't even care about her situation right now? Jesus! I don't even understand this woman.
Now, she's reaching out to him even in her subconscious state. I don't even know how to feel about it. I just feel so f*cking jealous. I remember when I made love to her for the first time in the hospital. God! I waited for that moment for so long and when it came my joy knew no limit. I was so careful with her knowing it had been so long she did it and when she approached her climax I heard her say his name. At first I thought it was my imagination so I let it slide. When she was high on euphoria she screamed his name and I was really upset.
Technically, all this shows that she's not over him yet neither is she close to being over him. What else am I to do to show her that I'll treat her better than this dickhead has ever treated her.
I turned and saw him still there. His eyes were looking as if they were going to fall out of its socket soon. I can tell that he is shocked to know that she's still reaching out to him.
"What in hell are you still doing here? Get out" I said letting my anger to take the best of me. My statement seemed to have revieved him from his line of thoughts. He turned to leave but as he got to the door, my champs stopped him.

"Uncle bad guy why did you take my momma's company away from her" Cassius said and Castillo folded his hands as if he was daring Emilio to lie. He looked at both of them for some minutes before speaking up. I bet he was thinking of a suitable lie to tell them.
"Emm.. I... em.. mm... am just helping her run the company until she's fine" he blurted out. Oh really? He couldn't even put up a good lie.
"That's a lie uncle and you know it" Castillo pointed out.
"Its true. You can ask your daddy" he tried again. They turned and stared at me. Silently, asking if it's true.
In as much as I want them to taunt him, I also can no longer stand his presence here. So I told them to come over. They did and he used the opportunity to leave without being noticed by them.
"Don't you worry yourself champs... we're gonna get the company back very soon" I said and they nod.
Nils called out my attention almost immediately.
"She moved her hands" Nils and Sandra said simultaneously.
"What? Really?" I said turning my attention from my champs and focused on Mia.
We waited for few minutes before she moved again. I quickly pressed the emergency button and the doctor and nurses came rushing in.
We were told to excuse them immediately we told them what happened. We reluctantly left her with the doctor in hope.

After some time, he came out smiling..
"She's awake but she's sleeping right now so as to regain her strength"

I persuaded the others to go home, freshen up and come back since she's awake. They hesitated at first but I told them that I'll stay with her till she wake up. They finally left. Few minutes after they left, I decided to get her food since she has not really eaten for days....
I got her her favourite meal and a little ice cream. I can already imagine the smile on her face when she sees this ice cream.
I turned the knob of her door opened. What greeted me made me stiff on my position for a complete minute.
The TV was on and the reporter was interviewing Emilio on how he feels about having to run the company...

REPORTER: How do you feel about being the new CEO and owner of your sister's company.
EMILIO: It's no longer hers. I bought it over.
REPORTER: Okay sir.. how do you feel about this..
EMILIO: My feeling is neutral.
REPORTER: Many people think you betrayed your sister. What do you say to that..
EMILIO: First off, she's not my sister. Now, their opinion is none of my business. Emilia could no longer handle the company so I saved her the stress of....

I turned the TV off. I could no longer bear his arrogance and efforntery...
"Why did you put it off" she asked
"Who put it on" I asked ignoring her question. I think she read it that I was annoyed so she answered.
"I told the nurse that came to check up on me to put it on" I sighed and walked straight to her bed and sat on it carefully.
I unwrapped the food and helped her to sit up. I fed her silently.
So many things where running through my head and I know it was same for her.
We were silent not because there was nothing to talk about but because there was so many things to talk about and we probably didn't know where to start from. Honestly I didn't know what to say to console her.
I finished feeding her and dumped the remains in the trash can and sat back on the bed.
"How did it happen" she asked breaking the silence. Wow.. I guess I need to start talking.
"When you were abducted, I was hit. I was unconscious for days and when I woke up I sneaked out of the hospital with Marc and travelled to Prana because the tracking device was showing Prana. We searched everywhere but couldn't find you before you spoke from the bug that you had with you. You know what happened after that. All through those times, I entrusted your company into Nils hands because I was an emotional wreck. If not for Marc maybe I would have been insane or something" my head was bent. I just couldn't look at her.
"Nils called telling me that the board members were complaining. As time went on it became worse. He told me that the members of the board were being cunny and that he was suspecting that something was going on. They gave us a date to meet up to their outrageous demands and when we told them to extend it on the set date, they sold it out." I paused to catch my breath and continued
"Am so sorry that I failed you. The little time you weren't around everything fell apart. Am sorry I couldn't prove my worth. Am sorry I....."
"Shhh" she put her finger on my lips to shut me up.
"Look at me" I didn't. I couldnt look at her when I knew her eyes would be filled with hurt and disappointment.
"Look at me Ardo. Please" I sluggishly did.
"Am not blaming you for anything. You did your best. So don't you dare put any blame on yourself. They had it all figured out even before you and I travelled to Prague"
"How did you..." I tried to ask her..
"Forget it.. where are my kids" she quickly changed the topic..
"They left with Sandra"
"Mia, let me fix this. I'll talk to my mum and with her influence we'll get the company back" she shook her head
"I don't need anyone's money to succeed. Not your money or that of your mother. Neither will I allow you to use your influence for me. I will succeed and I'll that on my own" there goes her ego again...
"But.."
"No buts. The only thing I want you to do for me is to take my kids far away from here. To a place where even I wouldn't be able to know"
"I don't understand "
"It's no news that my health is failing me and I might die soon. I'm officially entrusting my soldiers into your arms. Take care of them with whatever you were supposed to give me. Always remind them that I love them so much" Her voice cracked
"But you're not going anywhere. You are here with us. With me"
"I won't be for long. Now do what I've told you to do but let me see them one more time" why do I feel like this is a goodbye speech....

BILL'S P.O.V

Emilia slapped me in public and thinks she can go scot free? Nope it ain't gonna work. I was very upset about it for days so my dad suggested that we abduct her and deal with her of which I agreed to.
Honestly I think him and Rico, Emilio's uncle had other hidden intentions of wanting to abduct her cos of the urgency they attached to it so I decided to do a little research...
I discovered that my dad is hiding something very grave and I think Emilia knows about that's why he want to use this to threaten and shut her up. He's really good in covering up his track so   my men found it difficult to find out anything about his scared secret.
Rico Roderico on the other hand thinks she killed Richard and might be out to get him soon so he practically wants to lay his hands on her and either kill her or silence her forever.

After getting to know all this, I objected to the abducting her plan and tried to persuade them to go about it another way since I know they practically want to kill her but they didn't agree. My dad especially didn't want to go about it some other way.
I noticed that for some time my dad has been giving me the attention I've always wanted and desired for. I also noticed that he didn't want to talk about Edwardo or anything concerning him. So, am treading carefully not to annoy him. His influence can fetch me some things I always wanted and that's why I didn't push Emilia's issue further.

She was abducted successfully and taken to Mexico while asleep since we didn't trust her that much not to do something stupid. I must confess that she was extremely tortured and even with all that was done to her, I was told that she refused to shed tears saying that she will not give us the joy of seeing her tears. What a stubborn lady.
She's just too proud. If she had cried, she wouldn't have been tortured the way she was. Not shedding tears made my dad, Emilio's uncle  and his men angry and that's what led to the boiling of her feet. 

I was called few days ago that she escaped. God! She escaped. How she did it I don't know but I'm very sure that she was assisted by an insider. We are going to drill everyone that was there to make sure he or she pay but in meantime, my dad has mandated me to look for a way to kill her before she gets a chance to call the police on us and expose all of us... I'm a little bit reluctant to because I might hate her but I don't want her to die. Even I don't want to do it but my dad will look for someone else to do it. The bottom line is that she has come to the end of the road....
