CHAPTER 7

EDWARDO'S POV

Nils countenance dropped after what i said. I won't allow Mia to risk her life and the life of her son..
"What the fuck is wrong with you Ardo..? Now is not the right time and place for this rubbish.." Emilia scolded me angrily..
"You know fully well what am talking about.. It's too risky.." i said to Emilia
"i know what am getting myself involved in.." Mia said grinding her teeth..
"Doc. Please give us five minutes.. We'll be back" Nils said dismissing the doctor.. He led us outside..
"What's going on here.." Nils asked calmly but he looked confused and angry
"Mia donated blood a month ago and she's the only match for Cassius bone marrow transplant.. Above all she's.."
"Ardo!!!" Mia yelled my name..
"you've said enough.. Now listen attentively to me.. Am gonna donate my blood for him and that's final.." she spat angrily..
"I don't think you should go through with this.. Please reconsider your decision" Nils said but he sounded like a wounded lion
"Trust me brother... Please tell the doctor that I'll donate my blood..." Emilia said glaring at me angrily...
I waited until Nils was far away.. Then I forcefully pulled her to me..
"What is wrong with you.. Mia??" I shouted at her.. She just stared at me with a blank emotion...
"Have you gone mad..?"
"Yes.." She shouted at me..
I released my grib immediately..
I tried to understand her but I couldn't..
How can she risk her life for a man she despise so much..
"Are you still in love with him..?" I asked
"Nope" she shouted back at me
"Then why are you endangering your life for him..??" I asked her
"Because I want him alive.. I'm the only person who has the right to torture and kill him..
I need him alive to take my revenge.." She yelled angrily...
For the first time in a long time I could see her pain and fear.. All I could say is..
"Am sorry.."
She unexpectedly kissed me.
She stopped  when she notice my reluctance.. Getting what was going on, I quickly clashed my lips with hers. I kissed her so forcefully but yet lovingly..
She matched up to my desire as our tongues fought for dominance...
I poured out the feelings in my heart to the kiss and she willingly accepted it..
We finally stopped when we were out of breath while we stared deep into each other eyes..

We walked back quietly without saying a word to each other..
"Its time.." Nils said to Mia and she nods and walked away with the Nurses..
"Uncle Ardo where are the nurses taking mummy to???" Castilo asked me
"Hmm.. Mummy wanna assist the doctor so she could save your uncle bad guy's life.." I said to him and he smiled..
Thank God Cassius is asleep...
he would have asked me thousands of questions..
"Hey.. Bro" Marcelo waved his hand at me and walked up to me...
"Yeah.. I was emm.. I was.."
"Its okay.. I understand what you must be going through.." Marcelo said sadly..
"She doesn't give a damn about herself. She's just too stubborn.."
"That's how she has always been.. Do you know she risked her life to save mine and we were just around six to seven years.." Sandra said
"What!!!" I and Marcelo exclaimed together
"Yes.. When she's determined to do something.. She does it.. Not even death will be able to stop her.. " Sandra said triumphantly..
"She'll make it.." Nils chipped in..
"I hope she does.." I whispered to myself..

Its been half an hour now.
The nurses have been rushing in and out...
No fucking news..
I feel like bursting these steel doors.. Sandra has gone home with the kids.. Marcelo left few minutes later.. Nils and I have been perambulating..
These two stupid officers haven't been of any good..
Seeing them makes me more angry..

"Mia.." I exclaimed as two nurses took her to another ward. I was about to follow them when the doctor came out..
"What's going on doc..??" Nils asked
"He's stable.."
"How's Mia..??" I asked anxiously
"She's fine but unconscious" the doctor said and attempted to walked away but I grabbed him angrily..
"If anything happen to my Mia, I'll make sure you lose your licence.." I said and released my grib and he briskly walked away..
"What was that for..?" Nils asked dragging me by my shoulder..
"Just expressing my thoughts.. Is that a crime, Lawyer.?"
"That was not how to express your thoughts.. You threatened the doctor and that is a crime.." Nils spat at me
"What gave you the right to address me with such arrogance?" i asked angrily
"It's my gut.. I won't be...."
"if you weren't Mia's brother.. I wouldn't have hesistated to smash your head on the wall" i said interupting whatever he was about to say.. He unexpectedly sat down quietly.. I also sat next to him feeling more fustrated than ever. I shouldn't have lashed out on him. Transfering my aggresion wasn't the best idea.. Now i'm upset with myself.. What the hell is wrong with me..?? Mia, am going crazy....
"Am sorry!!" i blurted out
"you're in love with Emilia, isn't it..?" Nils asked and i averted my gaze from him..
'How the hell did he find out..?' I asked myself.
"Your actions speak louder than your voice.." Nils answered reading my thought.
"So it's that obvious?" i asked him calmly
"Yeah.. you're a crazy lover.. I envy you" Nils commented but his words sounded hillarious....
"do you think she'll ever love me.. Just the way i do..?" i asked him out of curiosity....
"I doubt that.. Because her heart is consumed with darkness..
A void amalgamated with hatred.. She's incapable of love" Nils replied...
He tapped me thrice on my shoulder like a way of consoling me and walked away with his words ringing in my head, mocking my feelings and emotions.. The realisation of the truth in his words caught me off guard.. But a familiar question came to my mind..
"Will i ever find true love..? Will i ever be loved by those whom i love.?" i asked myself out loud..

EMILIA'S POV

I woke up to the smell of coffee mixed with ginger. I lazily opened my eyes and my gaze wander around surveying my environment until it finally landed on him. I stretched my hand lazily and rest it on his shoulder. He jolted away from my touch.. His mesmerizing gaze flitters on me as he held my gaze captive..
"Mia!!!" he breathed out
"Ardo.." I whispered as i stared into his sea blue eyes..
"I missed you.." he said raining kisses on my face while i felt electric sparks each time he kissed me..
"I thought i lost you Mia. I felt empty and hopeless without you.. I got mad at everyone..
I even threatened to have the doctor lincense cancelled..I couldn't bear it anymore.. I lost..." i placed my fingers on his lip as his eyes pierce into mine searchingly..
"I have encountered difficult situations..near death situations multiple times.. It only makes me stronger.. Whenever you feel like am in great danger or in a situation between life and death, always remember that however long the moon disappears, someday it must shine again.." i said confidently..
"You never cease to amaze me.. But you know i always heed to your words.. My Mia" he kissed my cheek..
His shoulder stiffen and he tears his gaze away from mine..
His eyes on the tiles..
His body language showed that something was troubling him.. But i didn't want to compel him to tell me.. He'll tell me on his own free will..
"I can't believe you endangered your life for a man you habour so much hatred for.. I feel like you're growing soft because you seem to have decided to let go of the past and forgive him.." he said angrily and my chest burn with immense anger.. '
Two wrongs cannot make a right.' i said to myself and took a deep calming breath
"A bird does not change it's features because the weather is bad". i said calmly.. He smiled at my words... one would think that he didn't just yell at me a minute ago...
"how's my kids..?" i asked changing the topic as the air around us soften..
"They're fine. They should be here any...."
"mummy!!!" my children exclaimed chorusly intereputing Ardo. I spread my arm wide open and they jumped happily to embrace me.. My children.. My strength.. My pride.. Tears dropped from their cheeks and i quickly wipe it off using my thumb. They kissed my cheek happily..
"We love you very very much.. Mummy!!!"
"and i love you too very very much.. My everything.."
"oh mummy.. If we are you're everything.. Then what is daddy Ardo to you..?" Cassius asked and i stared intensively at Ardo..
"Daddy Ardo??" i asked rasing my eyebrow
"yes mum.. He's our new daddy.. Isn't it?" castilo asked staring at me with hope of a positive answer..
"Isn't it?" Castilo asked again and i nod my head relunctantly...
"Yeah!!!" Castilo and Cassius exclaimed chorusly.. Ardo adverted his gaze from me and i stared at him frostily.. His eyes stormy with conflicted emotions which i can't really comprehend..
"Hoo la la la!!!" Cassius exclaimed staring at me and Ardo.. I quickly diverted my gaze.. I could still feel Ardo's gaze piercing through me..
"We'll be back soon" Cassius said...
"wait..." i  called out but they ignored me.. Cassius dragged Castilo out.. "Cassius is just as mischievious as you are Mia..." Ardo said laughing but there was something akward about his smile.. A sad smile..
"What's troubling you..?" i asked him and his laughter seized as he stared at me frostily.. From the way he looked at me i know that whatever is troubling him has to do with me..
"My health won't deteriorate by the news" i assured him..
"The mayor of martamorax (MX) has granted the release of ten prisoners who have been of good behaviour.. Unfortunately his name is included.." Ardo said trying to look calm but i could feel him fidgeting.. Instead of being angry like he assumed i would be.. I was happy.. Extremely happy.. I couldn't contain my happiness within me.. I burst into laughter.. Ardo stared at me like i had lost it
"You don't seem to be bothered about this news?"
"of couse am not.. Am glad he's coming back.. Now my revenge will be more spicy and exciting.."
"Really, you're not bothered about the risk involved.." he asked curiously
"that's where the excitement is.. The game won't be interesting without an opponent.. My revenge vs his justice.. Amazing thrills.. "
"You should always strategize your plan effectively.. I don't want you to burn your own bridge with your hands"
"I won't ever destroy my path nor will i destroy my reputation intentionaly"
"but your over confidence may lead to your destruction and create...."
"sshhh.. Think positive Ardo" I whispered interupting him placing my finger on his lip to quiet him..
His eyes suddenly began to roam around from my lips to my finger on his lips.. His eyes begging for permission.. His lips inches from mine, my finger as a barrier.. I relunctantly dropped my hand.. But when his lips were just about to brush against mine.. The door swung open causing him to pull away.
"What the fuck.." a familiar voice shouted from behind us and i quickly raised my gaze to the door..
My heart missed a beat as i stared into those deep brown eyes......
