Sad News

Now Tuesday

Ashton POV

Hannah had just gone off to school and I had gotten alert from the school saying a boy named Chris in her grade had passed away. That's horrible. I hoped everyone was okay. I decided to text her

'I heard about the sad news😞 I hope you are okay! I love you!'

Only a minute later I saw she was typing back.

'I knew him, he sat next to me in math last year. My friends all knew him and they are crying and its making me teary eyed.😭'

I felt horrible and just wanted to give her a hug.

'Stay strong darling. Keep supporting your friends. You will all be okay.' I answered. And she replied back.

'Can I please come home daddy? Can we bring two of my friends too? They knew him really well and their parents said it was fine.' I gave in because I would feel horrible if I didn't.

'Sure baby. I'll call the school and be there in 15 minutes."

Once I got to the school I walked into the office to find Hannah and her two friends sitting there with frowns on their faces. She got up once she saw me and walked into my arms. I rubbed her back.

"It's okay baby girl" I cooed.

We walked out the school and into the car where we drove silently back home. And when we walked through the door they all went to sit on the living room couch.

"You guys want me too set up a movie for you? How about the Maze Runner?"

They nodded and smiled! I set it up and left the room sitting in the kitchen at the counter. I looked over at them every once in a while to see that Hannah was starting to get teary eyed, obviously thinking about Chris. She looked over at me so I gestured for her to come here. She eagerly stood up and came over to me where I was sitting.

"Sweetie pie" I sighed hugging her.

"Why him?" She cried.

"Darling I know it's tough. You guys shouldn't have to go through this at such a young age. We are all in this together" i comforted her.

"My friends are really sad and I think they need a hug." She spoke. I loved her for how she was sad because her friends were sad and she cared for them so much.

"Bring them on over. Let's have a group hug!"

We all wrapped our arms around each other in the middle of the living room hugging.

"Thank you Mr. Irwin for taking us home" Hannah's friend Kayley said shyly.

"Aww your welcome and you can call me Ashton" I smiled as we pulled out of the hug.

The girl had gone home and I was putting Hannah to bed.

"Goodnight baby. I'm sorry for everything that happened today, I love you!" I spoke kissing her nose. She giggled as it tickled her.

"I love you too daddy"

I smiled and shut the door making my way into my comfy bed.
