Miss detective and Mr alpha

Chapter 1

  Athenas P.O.V

My three dogs barked as we drove through our new town, Wolfs crest.
I know, even I rolled my eyes at the name. Why would they name a town after a damn wolf, are these people cereal? We passed many people and they all looked at us like we were an outsider. I'll have to admit I may have stuck the rude finger up at most of them, but they had it coming for them it's not like they put up a sign saying no Athenas allowed .Jesus. 

I kept driving and kept on the lookout for a parking space, I needed to buy some items to dog-proof my new house. Especially for blue, she loves to get up to mischief. Muffin yipped beside me and when I looked over I noticed the police station with a free park right out front.

"Good find muffin," I praised her with a soft smile on my face.

 I pulled into the park and turned off the ignition before hopping out of my ute, giving all three dogs a pat as I walked past. I took any ounce of emotion of my face keeping my stoic expression as I entered the station.

Upon entering the male receptionist's eyes met mine, he sighed as if he knew what I was here for.

"Let me guess another sexual assault victim," he stated like it was an everyday thing.

"Are you only assuming that cause I'm a woman and if that's your natural reaction to a lady walking in that must happen far too often in this town," I replied fiercely.

He looked shell shocked at my response and gave his reply "Why would you be here then?"

 I looked down at his nametag "Well Jamie, I'm detective Athena Stewart and I'm here looking for a job you got any available" I demanded with my resting beach face.

I saw him visibly sweat, I know I just have that effect on people.

"i..ll  s....e..e  w..h.a...t  i ..can do," he responded fearfully.

"cheers." I walked over to the seat near the desk and Jamie typed hurridly no doubt absolutely terrified by me. Which I honestly don't get, I mean I'm an angel.

"You got me an interview or am I wasting my time here," I declared after a couple of minutes.

"Well we can fit you in for an interview tomorrow 10:00 am if that works for you otherwise I can get you a different time" he spluttered.

"No tens fine thanks jam, I owe you one," I replied, standing up.

"See you later alligator don't forget your toilet paper," I chirped as I walked out of the station.

More people stared as I waltzed towards my car.

"Omg is that a new girl in town."

"She's gorgeous."

"She is so hot."

"Do you think she is single."

" If I was a dude she is the type of girl I would go out with."

I rolled my eyes and greeted blue and ivory who were in the tray, before hopping in my car beside muffin." Boy are people in this town crazy" I mumbled to muffin and myself with a groan.

One thing Americans have going for them is their accents there actually so cool! I just wish they were not such bumholes, no offense to any American. We continued to the shops, I finally noticed a pet store and parked a couple of metres away before leaving my dogs and walking in. 

I'm starting to get the feeling that Americans or at least this town is not very welcoming as everyone stopped to look as if I was a zoo animal and to be honest, I was fed up.
