My Muse

Between the stars and sun rays,
The footsteps of my muse, I retrace—
Searching in the clouds and sand,
Sounds and silence—in search of nothing grand,
For the mind needs nothing but consolation
From the sensual touch of words in compensation.

Where are you? O! Heartfelt muse?!
Come forth, for sanity and reality need to fuse!
Fly over and bath me in your stream of tranquility,
And dance with my unspoken words as they swirl rhythmically.
In pleas, I shall drop on my knees,
For my mind craves your decorative peace.

Through sketches and nature's sights, I wander.
"Where and what could you be?" I wonder.
—the skylight at nights or floral smells at noons?
The magical lines in books or lyrics and tunes?
The smiles of my beloveds or holes of my heart?
O! Erato! Shine your light, and to its direction; I shall dart!
