I don't know why but, I had a feeling that everything was not okay.

Armin, Eren, Mikasa, and I got off the boat, questioning whether we're going to stay together or not. They've only met me today, but somehow, we all get along. At least, Armin and I get along. That's a plus. Maybe that will help with mine and Eren's or mine and Mikasa's relationship.

We all walk down the street and find a place to just rest for a minute.

"I don't mean to pick a fight with you, but how did you get on the boat so quickly?" Eren asks, looking at me.

I continue to stare in front of me and think about it.

She moves me to where the boats are and says, "help her get on the boat."

The man who was standing there had a confused look. "She just can't cut-"

"Just do it. Captain's orders." She says, leaving.

"Go on, bitch. You're lucky you even get to be on this boat." He says with a stern voice.

Does she mean Levi?

"Petra saved me from a titan an-"

"You mean Petra from Squad Levi?" Eren asks, astonished.

"Yes, but please let me continue to answer your question." He nods and stares. Everyone is listening to me now. "Petra saved me from the titan who had just killed my mother and my brother. I would've died if she didn't because I just sat there crying. But, back to the point, she saved me and brought me to the boat. She told one of the soldiers to help me on the boat before everyone else. The man tried to argue back for the civilians, but Petra interrupted him. She ordered him to do it because it was 'captain's orders.' Whatever that means." I explain, continuing to look down at my feet.

"Captain's orders? Her captain is Captain Levi, so that would mean he wanted you on the boat. But why?" Armin asks himself. "Not to be rude."

"I have no idea..."

 Then I remembered something.

Levi looked around and made eye contact with me.

When Levi looked into my eyes, I saw pain swirl and spin through his. No one knows how he feels inside because he doesn't show it. I could tell Levi has gone through some immense pain and suffering. That's why he is as strong as he is.

Levi breaks eye contact with me and stares forward.

"Wait. Remember when the Scouts came back from their expedition?" I ask. Everyone nods, staring at me. "While they were on their horses, I was looking around at the other soldiers. For some reason, I looked right at Levi. We made eye contact and he broke it after a moment. I was able to read him at that moment. What if he knew that I did?"

Eren and Armin thought about it while Mikasa just sat there with her stoic expression.

"That's highly unlikely," Mikasa says.

"How is it, Mikasa?" Armin asks.

"I don't think he would be able to know if you 'read' him. Eren didn't know you 'read' him when you did. Why do you think Levi would?"

"No offense Eren," he nods, saying that I could go on. "Eren isn't like Levi at all. Their intelligence levels are completely different, making it more likely that Levi could catch on before Eren could've. And no offense to you either, but I read you before too. I just never said anything."

"You have a point, Y/n. An offensive point, but a point. Levi probably had realized that Y/n read him and wanted to hear what she read. If he didn't realize that she read him, maybe he saw something in her," Armin intelligently states.

"I highly doubt he would see anything in me. What do I have compared to you guys? Nothing. You all have friends, each other. And what do I have? Nothing, because of those damn titans taking everything away from me. You know what? I'm not going to screw up your guy's life anymore. It was great talking to you all," I say, walking away to god knows where.

Someone grabs my shoulders and turns me around fleetly.

"You're not screwing up our lives, Y/n. Just because of the Titans eating your brother and mother, doesn't mean that we haven't gone through it too. Trust me. I watched my Mom get eaten in front of my eyes. You're not alone." Eren says, hugging me.

"Thanks, Eren. You do have a compassionate side, don't you? You're not just hot-headed," I smirk and he laughs.

"I am pretty hot-headed, aren't I? Sorry, Y/n for the way I was acting when Armin got hurt."

"It was understandable. I mean, I probably would've acted the same, if not worse, if I was in your situation. Though, it didn't really help when I made all those smart ass comments back there, did it?" I laugh. He laughs too.

"Hey. Why don't we try and get something to eat?" Eren asks, of course.

"Sure." Armin and I say in unison. We look at each other and laugh.
