Before I start: Arlo is Eris' son, Beron is not longer Highlord :)
Story starts:I know it didn't sound bad to have a meeting. But it was the worst things I've ever heard. Bex and I always agreed he would take over the court. However since I've been passing him up in training, we are competing for title. Well, so our parents say. I don't want to belong to any court. I want to be a rouge, I want to be free to go to any court by my say. Which is what I'm going to do.
For the days leading up to the time we have to leave I've been a total pain in the ass to mom and dad. Hoping they will let me stay home and not go. You know they won't let you stay home right? So why keep trying. Damn it Bex! Get out of my head. Stop bursting into my thoughts Bex! Before he could reply I snapped up my mental shields. I was standing against the window seal in my room, watching Cassian and Nesta babble down on the patio. I got bored so I snapped my curtains shut with simple move of my magic and plopped face down on my bed. I began stretching my wings curtesy of the long flight I just went on. I really didn't want to go to the meeting but I guess I'd have to.
8 hours past:
I don't remember falling asleep, but I do remember jerking awake because Nuala and Cerridwen came in my room telling me I have to be dressed now. They practically tried forced me into a dress but I wouldn't let them. "I'm not wearing a damn dress! I prefer a tunic and pants." They didn't object, so they put me in a deep purple button up and fabric pants. I dismissed them because I could put my own hair up. So I did so. I braided my hair into the shape of a crown around my head and put on my ring that signified me as the daughter of the Night Court.
I walked down the stairs and everyone was down there. Cassian and Nesta were talking—- as usual. Azriel was brooding by the wall and Mom, Dad and Bex were talking. Mor was wherever Mor was I guess. "We are getting ready to winnow in." Dad said bristly. I curled my lip up. "Well I'm flying. You guys can winnow." Mom opened her mouth to object but I put my hand up and said, "Let me fly or let me stay." Cassian chuckled. I knew I was winning this argument. "Fine, but you will get there way later than us." Like I cared about that. It would be fine. "Ok, I'm cool with that." With that being said they winnowed out, I counted- 1...2...3...4...5. They arrived in 5 seconds. It'll take me 30-40 minutes. Which is time I could waste.
I launched and began flying. First flying through the Day Court, then the Dawn Court. As soon as I passed through the barrier to the Winter Court I wished I'd have worn a warmer Tunic. I looked at the sun and calculated the time. Damn, mom will be mad. I'm late by 45 minutes. I flew to the door of the Winter Manor and I walked right it. Immediately all eyes were on me, but I only looked at one person. This boy, I didn't know him. He had silvery blue eyes and his skin was so pale it looked frozen. His hair, whiter than snow. He was seated next to the Highlord of the Winter so i could tell he was his son. Something about this boy drew me in. Have I met him before? Why does he feel familiar? Oh! I got it! I've seen him in my dreams... many times.. Does he know me?
