Ticking

After the dinner we had our usual small talk and glasses of wine. All except for Anakin, he didn't like the kind of wine we had, but Arlo sure did. There wasn't much on the agenda for tomorrow, so we stayed up all night talking about random things and playing cards. My favorite part about last night was playing charades. Bex and I teamed up, one reason why is because we could cheat— we also had a lot of inside jokes that would work.

For example, when I stretched out my right wing and bent my left and a slight angle, he knew I was talking about mom when she hit the tree in the mountains. The game wasn't so easy for Bex though, a word he was given was bone carver. I could immediately think of a way to portray him. Just hold my hand out and run my other hand over it to show I was cutting/ carving something, but he's too dumb to think of it.

We retired to our chambers late that night, Bex came to my wing for a little bit. Every since we were kids he would sometimes sleep in the bed with me to keep the calm between us. Too much separation makes the twin bond buzz and fade and we don't want that. He slept on the side of the bed closes to the door, I rolled over facing away from him. "Good Night, Idiot." He said. "Good Night, Dumbass." I chimed back.

Next Morning

Bex had left when I woke up, he's always been an early bird. I prefer to sleep til dinner time. I dressed myself this time, wearing a burgundy, mid length sleeve dress. It came in real tight around my waist, but it was tolerable. When I looked out my window, the placement of the sun told me it was a little past noon. That was a reasonable hour to get up, I'm sure. When I walked out of my wing I heard laughter coming from the living room. Glancing around the room, everyone but Rueben was in there. "Isn't it ironic that my son, the heir to the dawn court, sleeps til dusk every day?" Thesan said.

That is hands down one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time. Everyone had busted out laughing. Levi was the next to speak, "Yeah, I always think the same thing. I never wake up til after dusk, but you are up bright and early way before the sun is." I didn't stay to hear the rest of he conversation, just went to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat. There were apples in a bowl on the counter, I picked on up and bit into it. It was sweet and hard. Just how I liked them.

Sonny came in about three bites into the apple. He walked around close to me and grabbed an apple for himself. "how've you been? Dresses?" He noticed. As a childhood friend I expected him too, however he's just now calling me out. "Yeah, I figured I'd start dressing more like a lady, mom likes it and I'm sure that if I ever want someone to love me, they'd want someone who acted like a lady at least."

He laughed, I don't see what he finds funny. "Nova, if anyone falls in love with you, they need to fall in love with you. Dressing like something you're not will only make you unhappy." He was right, inside I felt this small ticking. It was right in the middle of my stomach, every time I considered who I was as a person it got more painful, maybe I'm not happy being like this. It wouldn't ruin me, would it?
