Will You Break Me ( ArjunMukta 1)

29: decision

Rajveer opened his eyes after 24 hours long deep sleep. He felt his head heavy due to high doses of medicine. He found himself on hospital bed and his arms clutched in bandage and drips. He looked around him and found Rashmi asleep on the couch. Her face was looking stressful as if she didn't sleep from long time.

He tried to get up and in the process, he hurt himself and gasped. Rashmi woke up with jerk on his voice. She looked him and found him conscious. She called the doctor. Rajveer was looking her but didn't say a word to her while she also did same thing.

Doctor came and told them that he could go home but after 2 days proper rest. due to excessive bleeding from his wrist, he lost strength. As doctor left, the police officer came for the statement.

He asked,
" Mr Rajveer Singh.... i hope... you are feeling better now.... what did actually happened with you? "

Rajveer looked to Rashmi. She also looking into his direction.

" i don't know... may be i was so drunk thats why a broken bottle piece injured me..."

Police officer looked dissatisfied from his answer,
" Mr singh.... your cut was not accidental but it was deliberate attempt of suicide.... please tell us truth.... what did happen so serious with you so that you tried to take your life...."

Rajveer remembered the event where Rashmi broke the news of her miscarriage. It made him so devastated but he didn't think for suicide.

" i don't remember officer.... i was too much drunk to recall anything... may be in that state i did something grave like that... please i request you that don't trouble my family in this case... i am fine and alive so just please let it go.. i don't want any scandal..."

He replied and closed his eyes. The police officer gave him a " are you serious?" look and said,
" ok then sir... if you don't want any further investigation then please give a written statement and we will close this matter..."

Mukta opened her eyes with difficulty, instantly all the bizzare memories of last night came in front of her eyes. She looked around her and found her alone. She looked herself and relieved. He didn't do anything with her but broke her heart in millions of pieces. He tried to force on her. He claimed that he loves her but her father always taught her that love can never get by force. It should be the feeling of mutual respect, devotion and gentle approach. But Arjun was neither gentle nor respectful to her. He tried to claim her like he own her. She never felt love in all his action.

It was true that he helped her to be independent and brave to face this world. He gave him confidence to speak . But his one move made a harsh impect on her. He was turning worse possessive for her. She was again feeling her life trapped only person changed. First Rajveer captured her now when she was trying to be free, then Arjun started to behave like obsessive lover. She was scared. She wanted to run away from all the mess in her life.

Rashmi was staring him furiously,
" the police officer has gone .... now will you please tell me what is all this?"

Rajveer looked her annoyingly on her constant nagging.
" didn't you hear what i said to police..."

Rashmi was angry,
"Don't try to ignore it... Rajveer i know that it isn't true... do you think i will believe all the fuck.... now will you tell me?"

Rajveer looked her and replied with clinched fists,
"In which language you will understand.... I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING..."

Rashmi looked him astonishingly,
" ok... you told me... i heard you.. but i will not let go this question easily... i will find out..."

Rajveer sighed and asked,
" what are you still doing here? I understood they called you and you came but now i am fine and i can take care of myself... you can go..."

Rashmi controlled her anger,
" i can see how much care you can do...and for your kind information, you yourself destroyed our divorce papers so i can still stay with you legally..."

Rajveer mocked her,
" yeah whenever you want you can stay... and when you think to leave... you can leave legally.... i don't matter in all this... right?"

Rashmi: " yes you don't matter to me that's why i am here.... "

Rajveer: " if you told me about my child then nothing happened like this and you didn't have to be here...."

Rashmi took a deep breathe on his sharp words,
" Rajveer.... i am fed up with all this... now i want to live in peace..."

Rajveer looked her and asked in accusing tone,
" with me ?...."

Rashmi looked him and replied in low tone,
" we both are sinners... we can repent our ways by living together...".

Pramila came to Mukta room when she sensed something wrong. She found that Mukta was packing her luggage. She asked in surprised tone,
" what are you doing Mukta?"

Mukta stopped for a moment and looked her,
" maa... i am going from this home..."

Pramila looked her and asked,
" does Arjun know ?"

Mukta became scared on her question,
" maa... he will not let me go... but..."

Pramila sighed on her fear, she knew about their relationship everything. She knew what Arjun tried to do last night. It was impossible for her to ignore when she lived under same roof. She never interfere because she wanted to make them understand the value of their relation by their own.

Now when she looked her pale face, she understood that it will be better if she let her go where she want. She wanted to give space to Mukta. So that her mind could be clear on certain things and she could live happy. If she was destined to be with her son, she will come back but if she was not comfortable with Arjun... no one could force her to live.

Pramila gave her a assured smile,
" Mukta you don't have to go silently like this... i will not tell Arjun about you... but you don't have any place to go... let me help you to find a suitable place...."

Mukta looked her in shock, she was helping her while Arjun was his son. She put her happiness over her son... she was confused whether to believe her or not?
