The dinner was OK. I was bored. And rather upset. Today was still Sunday and I wasn't about to let the rest of the weekend go by with out me having a little fun, by myself of course.

I quickly got dressed, and brought myself down stairs. I had left a note for my mum in case she got home before I did. And found myself walking.

I hadn't really decided where I was going. So I decided a quick stop at the library is what I would do.

The library was around the corner from my house, so naturally it took maybe 5 minutes to get there.

Walking in,  it smelt like books. A comforting smell. I mean, who doesn't just get lost in a book? I quickly answered my own question...all the jocks at school that bully me. As if the had the mental capacity...

I immediately felt terrible for having such a thought. Two wrongs don't make it right. I don't have to be jerks like them. I won't be. I refused.

I quickly found books and went on my way. I had decided on two books. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Willow.

I got Willow because I remembered Ava reading it. Maybe this would give me a little insight on why kind of a person she really was. Maybe...

I made my way down town to a little coffee shop and sat down. I figured I would sit and read for an hour or two.

I got a coffee and sat down in the far corner of the shop, and opened Willow.

The entire book was about a girl who began cutting herself. Her parents were professors at some big college and went to a party with other professers and got drunk, and they brought their daughter with them as the designated driver. When they went to go home it was a terribly storming and it resulted in their car crashing, and the daughter being the only survivor. Of course that would send anyone through depression, and she cut herself for release. She meets a boy who helps her and so on so forth, a different but basic love story. A.K.A chick book.

I had gotten lost in the book and forgot about time. When I was interupted.

"Marcel. Don't move. Just please talk to me?" It was Ava.

"I'm sorry. I never meant to be rud-de. I just don't-t think it's a good idea. For us to be friends..." I stared at my book. Not making eye contact.

"Why? People at school?" she was hurt, she really was trying and I kept shutting her out. " I don't care about them. They are...doesn't matter. Please talk to me?"

I looked up at her, she was in sweatpants and a rollingstone T-shirt. She looked like she might be a little sick, maybe a cold?  She was examining my face.

"I'm sorry for missing the dinner date with your mom and you. I was at home..not feeling great." yep sick. She was supposed to be there? I was so confused. How did my mom even know them. Wait mom, what time was it?!

I checked my phone, 7:45 pm!  Oh, I told mom that I would be home soon.  It's been almost six hours!  If she was home, she would be worried.

"Ava, I am so s-sorry. I have to to go home. My mom will be worried." I was still so far away it would take atleast half an hour to get home.

"Let me give you a ride home, I don't live to far from your house." I knew that already. Mom would be happy to see that she is talking to me.

.......

"you can come in, if-f you would like... " I felt bad for always running. It was clear I wouldn't escape this time anyways. So I might as well see what her intensions were. What did I have to lose anyways..

"sure." she grinned. Wow!  She was even more beautiful up close. Even with out makeup. She..just wow.

We made our way in the house. "mom?"

She had left me a note as well.

'Marc, I have a date tonight. Don't wait up for me. I will be back late, and you have school in the morning. I made lasagna for you for dinner, it's in the microwave. Make sure to put it in the fridge. Love, mom.'

"My mom isn't home. Do you want anyth-thing to drink. Or eat?" I was even more nervous to be so alone with her. I wondered what would happen if My mom knew. I guess there is only one way to find out.

"No, thanks. Marcel you have a lovely house." I guess so...

"why do you want to be my friend? Was it a dare? I don't understand I havnt given any one a reason to do anything bad.." I was straight forward. I wasn't nervous asking, frustrated actually. Might as well get to the point. She looked at me stunned. Not expecting I suppose.

"I think a better question is why don't you want a friend? Of course it's not a dare. Do I look like that kind of person. I just want to be your friend..is that a crime?" Not to me, but to everyone else here it was...

"You will get bullied for talking to me.." I told her sadly. It was depressing to admit. I wasn't allowed to have friends, fearing I might ruin someone else's life.

She frowned. "I don't care what people think, I know that my true friends will be fine, and they will want to talk to you to. We actually talk about you often. And neither of them have said mean things. Will you sit with us at lunch tomorrow?"

I nodded. I was excitedband nervous. I trusted her. I didn't know why. Would she let me go around other people that would bully me?  I don't think so.. I hoped not.

She stood up, grabbed my hand and pulled me up from the couch and hugged me. Affection. I don't know how to react. It was akward.

"I will pick you up tomorrow at 7, I want to show you something after school," she kissed my cheek and left.

.......

Laying in bed, I couldn't sleep. She kissed my cheek. She hugged me. Surely she wouldn't do that if she wasn't my friend. I had no reason not to trust her. She isn't like them I decided. I actually had people to sit with at lunch. I might just have friends.

"Don't get your hopes up, Marcel.." I told myself aloud.

I won't be able to update for a day or so... I have a fundraiser tonight, a family Friends house burnt down a couple weeks ago. And I will be there until late tonight.

Thanks for reading.
