It all started out as the same, like it always does. New school year, just the same people and same old me.
I try my hardest to be something that people will like. But I just don't think it's possible. It's always something that's wrong with me.
I act smart, I am a nerd. I act dumb, I am an idiot. You try to be normal and you get food dumped on you by the jocks. I can never win.
My name is Marcel. I truly am a nerd. And I truly am an idiot for trying to fit in when I just never will. People will never like me and I need to accept that.
Today is the first day of my senior year in highschool. I cant even tell you how relieved I am for it to almost be over with. I don't have anyone to even be with. I mean I am used to it. Like I said. No friends.
I was getting ready for school and it truly was depressing. It really was. Same sweater vest, same hair style, same stupid glasses that I can't see without, but am pathetic with. I just can't win. I am ready to leave this stupid school and never look back.
It was almost 7:00 am, and that meant that it was time to go wait at the bus stop. Lucky me. So I began my short and dreadful journey.
I kept my eyes down on my feet and my ears open to make sure I didn't go past any one who would hurt me.
Slowly reaching the bus stop, I was relieved to find that noone was at the bus stop besides me. I checked my watch, 7:45 am. The bus should be here any minute.
As always the bus ride to school was horrible. But not nearly as bad as last year. Most of the older kid's who picked on me either graduated or now drive to school. So I suppose that's a plus right?
Heading into the school, I already knew my schedule and locker number, so I wouldn't have to spend much time in the halls looking, just asking to get picked on.
My schedule went as:
English IV
Calculus
Excelled Art
Lunch
Physics
Free period
Health (alternative to gym)
Walking into my first class. I realized I had my most favorite teacher, Mrs. Jaques. But behind the other students backs she allowed me to call her Ellen. She understood what the other kid's were doing, and most certainly did not allow any of that behaviour when she was around. She was strict but very very nice. She always told me how I was a great writer. I always just blew it off. I never really knew how to take a compliment, since the only compliments I got were from a teacher. But like I said.
P.A T.H.E.T.I.C..
The day seemed to blur by until my free period. I was in the library working on a portrait I had decided to do for excelled art. When I zoned out. Looking up and to my disbelief I had seen a girl watching me.
She was stunning. She had auburn colored hair and sparkling blue eyes. I hadn't ever seen her before. I knew so, because I had seen just about everyone at this school. They all seemed to make sure I knew to stay away from them.
That thought brought me back to reality. Why would she want to talk to me? Honestly? Was I that stupid? No. Focus Marcel. Art art art.
I peeped up again, and she smiled at me. I immediately looked down. And suddenly I heard the chair next to me move.
"Hi, I am Ava Lee. I noticed you were working alone. And I wanted company." her little voice chirped delightfully. She was great. But what was she thinking? Talking to me? She wants a death wish!
