Chapter 7 | hallowe'en
The next morning arrived. Caitlyn woke up early since it was a school day. The dressed her robes and went to have breakfast, where she found the Gryffindor table making a huge fuss. Harry was in the middle, as always, and everyone surrounded him amazed. Caitlyn only understood the why after she went there to discover.
"That's a Nimbus 2000!" Seamus Finnigan yelled in total atonishment. "It's the fastest broom the whole world!"
Caitlyn's eyes popped out when she saw it. A mahogany beautiful broom with the golden words Nimbus 2000 in the end. There was a golden stripe holding the bristles.
"Can I take a ride with it, Harry? After you of course," Seamus continued.
Harry picked up the broomstick puzzled, his eyes shining. Then he put it back on the table, just looking at it carefully. Caitlyn decided to sit down, instead of staying there in the middle of the crowd. She sat next to Draco, who seemed very annoyed that morning. Either beacuse his plan to get Harry and Ron caught by Filch didn't work or because Harry had a Nimbus 2000 and he didn't.
"So, Draco, you look pissed," Caitlyn pointed out, grinning at the blonde haired boy. He turned his head to her and she gave him a friendly punch in the arm. "Don't look at me like that, I didn't do anything up, all right?"
She put a toast in her plate and started putting butter on it. She also served herself with some pumpkin juice. The next thing she noticed, Draco was no longer sitting with her.
"Hey, Potter," Draco called, walking up to the Gryffindor table. "Don't you know the rule that first-years can't have their own broomsticks? Or did you simply forget?" He glanced at the broom in disgust. "Can't wait till McGonagall hears about it."
"Actually, Malfoy, I think she already did," Harry retorted. Darco fowned. "Like I'm the Seeker, she got me a broomstick. The best broom, to be exact. So it's not against the rules at all." He smiled vailiantly
Draco stormed out of the Great Hall, deeply annoyed. Ron couldn't avoid to smirk.
Caitlyn's next class of the day was Potions. She went to the dungeons with Spencer, already late for the class They had gotten behind because McGonagall -- the class before was Transfiguration -- had asked to speak to Spencer about her preformance in class. Spencer excelled in Transfiguration. She managed to transfigurate everything at the first time and she was already a few chapters ahead of the class. The same happened with Caitlyn in Charms. She had studied the book in the last month of summer so she pratically knew it backwards.
They barged in the Potions class. They were having class with Hufflepuff. The class had already started. Professor Snape was at his desk and everyone was doing their potions. They all turned to the two girls when they arrived, gasping for hair since they had rushed to class at all speed (making Caitlyn fall down some stairs). And so did the Potions Master.
Claitlyn started, "I am so sorry we're late, Professor, but Professor McGonagall wanted to talk to Spencer and I stayed with her and it took a while."
"That's all right," Snape said monotonously. "Take your seats, Miss Montrose and Miss Tracis. Your classmates are preparing the Sleeping Draught individually. You can start."
