"Goodbye... Isaac."
I ran back to camp and let off a couple of rounds to make it look like I shot something. I couldn't get Gemma out of my mind. We spent most of the morning and afternoon together.
I got back to camp and saw Benny and Tommy.
" Hey man did you get anything? "
I couldn't tell them about Gemma otherwise they would throw me out for sure. So I lied.
" Nah man I missed every target I shot at. "
" Alright maggots, hand over your weapons! " Sargent yelled.
We turned them in and went to the mess hall.
"Dude my legs are so sore. I don't think I can do the night course tomorrow night." Tommy complained.
" Wait we go again tomorrow night? I asked.
"Yeah so we get night experience as well as day experience. Weren't you paying attention?"
" Yeah of course I was."
The perfect opportunity to see Gemma again. I'm just not sure if she knows about the night training.
We finished dinner and went to the barracks. I couldn't wait until I saw Gemma again. Her eyes stayed in my memory the whole night. I wondered if she was thinking about me too.
