Well...it was time. My dad picked me up around noon so my mom could spend time with me. She rarely saw me since I start spending nights at camp. Then at 6:30 she pulled out the suit I was supposed to wear.

Then at seven Mallory came with her parents.

"Dad you forgot to mention that this was a family dinner. "

" I thought you knew. "

" No"

Fantastic. Now I have to have dinner with not just this girl, but also her family.

"Dinner is ready.  Shall we go to the dining room?" My mom asked.

We walked into the dining room and helped Mallory with her chair. After appetizers and entrées,  Mallory broke the silence.

" So Isaac, how’s training? "

     " Oh you know. .. brutal. "

" Now I Understand why they wont let women fight.  Too hard I guess. "

Then her father spoke "A woman's job is to the home.  Making children and keeping everything clean.  While the men are out fighting. "

Gemma would disagree with the whole thing.  She wants to fight.  (I found out a lot about her when we spent the night.)

"How about we go to the den for drinks and dessert?" My mom asked.

We went to the den and it was already 11:45. Sunrise would be here soon.

"Father if you don't mind I'd like to go back to camp.  Training and I need some sleep. "

" Of course.  My apologies for my son.  But he is a soldier. "

" Well,  good night Isaac. " everyone said.

"Goodnight. "

My dad took me back to camp.  I went to the barracks and tried to get some sleep before sunrise.  I slept for three hours and then snuck my way to the garden.  I sat and waited for Gemma.
