Chapter 02

"As expected." Mai whispered as she bowed her head to prevent the young clad to noticed her expression.

"But why is he so familiar?" Mai asked herself but can't seem to know the answer why this guy is so familiar to her.

"Pardon?" Kazuya Shibuya asked as he seem to hear her say something. Mai lifted her head and smiled at him.

"Nothing! I think it's cool to be a president of a company at such a young age. You sure you're not scamming me?" Mai teased. Shibuya frowned at her and fished out a folder from his briefcase.

"Will this document suffice?" He showed her some documents of Shibuya Psychic Research. But she only saw the ownership and failed to see the rest.

"Oh... Okay! You must be a genius!"

"Hmm..." Answered, Shibuya and put the documents away.

Calling him a genius, Kazuya Shibuya didn't feel any tinge of discomfort. He had been called a genius all his life and he is so used to it but words coming from this girl seems strange. He don't know why though.

Mai noticed some girls looking at the guy with her with brimming eyes. She look at this guy only to find him so indifferent and cold. Well, it's none of her business.

"The principal called the office for our help. He asked us to look into the rash events happening every time they try to demolish the old school building. Apparently, the building is rumoured to be cursed."

"Hmm. Understood." Mai said as she took out her iPad and show the screen to him.

Kazuya raised her eyebrow and look at the girl with doubt. Mai just look at him and turn her gaze to the phone so Kazuya read contents on the screen.

It's all about the rumours about the old school building. And not just rumours, newspaper articles about the old schoolhouse are all present. Kazuya threw a bewildered look at the girl in front of him and couldn't help but to be disturbed. Why would she investigate the old school house? Mai, who detected his confusion, answered.

"Well, when I saw you in the old school house and the camera, I knew that the principal asked help from paranormal investigators. Seeing you investigating, I got curious too so I conduct my own investigation starting from the rumours to the news about the building. "

"You're smart ." Shibuya couldn't believe that this girl can gather so much information in a short time. It was only a few hours since they met in that building.

"Yeah. I think paranormal investigation is cool. But I don't have time to prove if the rumours are true or not. The articles are also short so i couldn't gather any important intel. "

This time, it's Kazuya's turn to bring out his research papers. Mai sat down with him on the bench and stopped when she saw the words in his notebook. It's all written in English. His reports are all in English not in Japanese.

A normal person would write on the language he is more comfortable in using when writing a personal report. That means he is not from here and from English speaking country?

Many thoughts flooded Mai's head as she thought of it. Well better forget it ah.

"Cough..First, until 18 years ago when the old school building is still part of the main campus, one to two died every year." Mai coughed utter those words to ease her doubts. Haay, she really is a paranoid.

"Yes, I have that too but they all died in accidents and illness. It was also true that the roof in the West wing fell during demolition just like what your friend told you but there's no report nor that workers died during that time. It's true that five were injured but that was caused by human error not by spirits. They demolished one third of the building and that was all. 6 years ago, there is a body of a child found in the building. She was a 7-8 child that lived in the neighborhood. She was kidnapped for ransom and the criminals were caught a month after they found her body. It was also true that a teacher committed suicide however he was diagnosed with neurosis and there is a suicide note he left behind."
