"Yes. That person is the same journalist that caught Ubusuna-sensei cheating almost 2 decades ago." Mai answered bluntly.
"Sensei, please admit it." Naru said while Mai bring out papers from the brown envelope she got a while ago.
"Ubusuna-sensei, even if you stay silent and don't admit it, I still have some materials to prove that you're the hexer." Mai said as they all look at the papers in her hand.
They gasped when they saw the words printed on the paper.
Fingerprint tests?!
"I gather some fingerprints on the hitogatas and compare it to our suspect's fingerprints. The results...? There is no trace of Kasai-san's fingerprints but found Ubusuna-sensei's fingerprints in almost all the hitogatas that are tested. I also have another solid evidence here." Mai said showing her laptop screen again.
"It is a CCTV footage of the whole campus. I asked the security to give me some footages from the past few days but I noticed that there are no footages whenever the class ends. I thought that the security guard might have turn off the cameras when class is over but he said that they work 24 hours so I start to investigate again. We and the security team found out that their computers are bugged and cannot take a single footage at a designated time. It is clear that someone tampered with the security computers." Mai said clicking the play button.
"But thankfully, the principal's computer is also connected to the cameras so footages are directly sent to him. And although the security's computers are bugged, the principal's computer are not harmed in any way. And tadaah.... Here is what I got."
The room became silent. That is a solid evidence. They saw Ubusuna-sensei burying hitogatas on the campus.
Ubusuna-sensei chuckled seeing that she has no way to retreat. She praised Mai for being so witty but she still keeps her smile on. Not a little bit distracted. She stood up and put the flowers in a vase but Lin got there before her and snatched the flowers from her. Lin revealed a hitogata and they saw that the hitogata is aiming for Naru to die. Everyone was alerted and run to Naru to protect him.
Ubusuna-sensei lost her smile and attempted to snatch the wood back but Lin already took a hold of her. Seeing that her plan failed, Ubusuna-sensei laughed hysterically as tears formed on the corner of her eyes.
"It was unfortunate that it happened because at that time, Japan depended on media to decide the legitimacy of ESP . Japan had no proper ESP Research Organisation and there was no proper test to determine your psychic ability. It should not be up to the media to decide like that..---" Naru said calmly as he spoke like he wasn't cursed just now but the teacher laughed again interrupting him.
"It's true. You are all correct. I cursed everyone including that journalist. Unlike Kasai-san, I didn't have anyone that would tell me it was a wrong thing to do. No one was there to say that it is okay when I couldn't do it. I just wanted to protect Kasai-san's abilities however we somehow attract the school's criticism. I was anxious and just wanted to stop them but they didn't so I did it. But it was supposed to be a little prank." She said regaining her previous calm and smiling face.
"Sensei. This is more serious than a prank. Enmi is a cursed placed on other to violently harm them. Luckily no one had died yet but it was only a matter of time." Naru said starting to be irritated by this crazy woman.
"Hmm.. That would be unfortunate but you know, if it had really happened, people would realized that in life, there are things that takes more than Science to be explained."
Everyone was stumped at what she just said. It's true. People will realize that but this method is so cruel and inhumane. There is no point to this if it is really like that. In that way, supernatural powers will be seen as a curse and everyone with it will be treated with discrimination.
