Hello people, I'm back. To start this off, I really want to thank every single one of you who has helped me reach my goal, and the happiness you have given me. As many you know, I went on a hiatus, as some of you call it, after completing this book, which was truly saddening for me as I never got time to respond to all of your amazing feedback (and I seem like a complete saddo responding to something most of you have most like forgotten about) though, I have read every single little bit of feedback you have sent me after completing this book.
suggested to make a Book 2 called Forgiven, I loved the thought of it, I have thought about this day and night and found it to be a very good idea. However, I don't think my situation will help me to write a whole long new book ( though I would love to) so, I thought instead I'd write a short story. I haven't figured everything out, but I was thinking maybe it'll be in Taes perspective this time.
I'm not sure when I'll publish it, though I've started writing it and have saved it into my draft. If you like the idea comment or message me, and pros to @tae_gi_guk for inspiring me.
Now, I'm no professional in writing books, or anything like that. But, when writing this book I developed a new love for writing, and tips I always had in mind to keep this book going and today after what seems forever, I really want to share them with you and to anyone who is struggling to make their book the best it can be.
So here are my top tips for you:
1.Cover
I know people say don't judge a book by its cover, but the cover is your base. Good cover attracts people attention, which means more reads, woohoo. For this, I suggest using Canva. I used this website (and app) whilst writing both my books and it's easy and practical all you have to do is find a bright, shining picture ( I suggest the photoshoots if it's fanfic) experiment and find your style and you have step one checked.
2.Planning
Because this was my first book, I was so excited I dived right into it without planning, I had a storyline, but no plan. This made this book go downhill at some point and I admit that. So, before you make the same mistake I did, I advise you to plan. This doesn't mean write the book out in complete detail beginning to end, but write how you want the beginning, middle and end to be like to give you a faint idea and you don't go astray. Just how you (or some) of you did in primary school, we called it story mountain.
3. Motivation
I have said this to so many people, but motivation is your key. Just because you don't have the same amount of reads like someone with 100k doesn't mean your story is crappy. You need to keep writing and being patient because before you know it, your story will start drawing people in. No matter what, don't stop writing because of the number of reads or votes and continue being patient. I know it's hard but fighting!!
4. Paragraphs!!!
I cannot emphasize this enough to you, but I have clicked onto books and clicked right out because of them not writing in paragraphs. It simply makes me dizzy and loses the plot of the book, also it doesn't look good as a writing style. SO, paragraphs kids, paragraphs. Please take my word for this.
5. Plot line
Now the plot line keeps people interested. So as much as you can avoid writing something you see everywhere. For example, I love bad boy stories like, seriously adore them so when I see titles like 'my bad boy' I'm in and reading. But what makes me click off is because I've basically read this elsewhere; the boy is a rebel, he doesn't like the girl, but she stands out, he likes her, she likes him, 'its true love', the end. So mix in genres like add some sad aspects, fighting etc, mix and match. And yum your book will be amazing and I won't click off.
6. You
I bet all of you have imagined your self with the guy or girl you like, and you make a whole scene that gets your heart racing (guilty). Throw it in, no harm done, mix a bit of yourself in there too, hell yeah we'd love that. This contributes to point five, make it different, be unique.
These are my main points for you, and I hope that it helps give you some guidance.
I have written a few ideas for some bonus chapters so don't think I have forgotten, keep your eyes open for it.
As for 'His Babysitter' I will hopefully, hopefully, publish it again with some changes added and get on track with my writing, so please go and support it as you did with this.
Your amazing and don't forget 'you nice keep going.'
Peace, Rokea xx💜💜💙
