«Just come home.»
---
Her eyes glanced occasionally at her phone sitting on top of one of her pillows while she packed her stuff in the suitcase as if she could summon a call or a message from Eden by looking at her phone. She knew she shouldn't expect anything from him, after all, she was the one who decided to call things off between them, so why was Jenna so keen on waiting for him to communicate with her?
She shook her head, barely folding a shirt and throwing it inside the suitcase. Eden Hazard was an impossible, she had to get that inside her head.
"It's alright Ivan but thank you." Isaac said while he was opening her door to walk inside her room, smiling like her dad could see him. He closed the door behind him and turned around to greet Jenna. "Hey, Lavryn. How are—oh." Isaac raised both eyebrows as his gaze focused on the suitcase laying on the bed. "Are we taking a trip?"
Jenna chuckled. "Yeah, back to Lille." Isaac grimaced, walking closer to her. He sat on her bed and peeked inside the suitcase. "In a few days, but it seemed right to start packing now. It's not like I'm doing much here." Jenna shrugged, picking another item and folding it.
Isaac analyzed her face, cocking his head to one side. For a moment he had thought she was comfortable enough in London to stay for a bit more, and he had tried to understand the reason.
Reaching for the jacket laying behind him, Isaac looked at her, giving her a grin. "Do you need help?" He offered, extending the jacket in front of her.
She furrowed her brows, looking at him suspiciously. "You're not going to tell me anything? A list of reasons why I should stay in London?" Isaac shook his head.
Well, for someone who had spent a lot of times trying to convince her why she should move back to London, he sure didn't seem to care enough about the fact that she was going back to Lille in a few days. Jenna threw him another look, not entirely sure of his attitude, but Isaac seemed to be too concentrated on helping her with her luggage to even notice it. Was it suspicious or she just wanted someone to try to stop her from going back?
Jenna shook her head. Not London again, she thought.
They continued packing her clothes in silence. The only sound in the room being The Growlers playing from her computer. Jenna, as she had been doing before, kept stealing glances at her phone from time to time, something Isaac was curious enough to notice.
"Ah, what the bloody hell!" Isaac sighed, throwing an unfolded shirt inside the suitcase. Jenna turned to him, confusion all over her face. "What did he do now?"
She frowned, deeply. "What do you mean? Who is he?" She dropped what she was folding on her bed and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Who is he?" Isaac mimicked her voice, exaggerating his expression. It just made her even madder; they were like kids. "I know you're seeing Hazard again, Jenna. I'm not stupid." He didn't say it with a judgmental tone or anything, more in a matter-of-factly way.
Her mouth opened to say something, but the words were stuck in her throat. Or perhaps she just didn't know how to convince Isaac that she was not seeing Eden again, well, lie to Isaac about it.
She uncrossed her arms, frenetically moving her hands in the air. "I'm not." She simply said. It was choked out, and God, since when did she sound so piping? "Eden Hazard? Come on." The thing was, she knew she was the worst liar in the world, and she didn't have to talk to make it clear.
