«Then I'll lose my children. Then I'll lose my love. Then I'll sit in silence.»

---

Eden parked outside of Jenna's house, knowing he should have been anywhere else but there. The nagging feeling of proving Jenna that they could work, that perhaps it was worth the try, wouldn't leave him alone. Aside from the fact that he could not forget how they almost kissed at his house. He needed to see her.

It sounded bad, but he was finally feeling like he could get her back, and Eden would not lose the chance. He had visited her house before, one more time wouldn't hurt anyone. Except if Ivan opened the door again and just helped to increase his hopes about Jenna moving to London again.

Pushing those thoughts away, he got out of the car and quickly walked to the front of the house. He hesitated before pressing the button but did it a few seconds after. Eden almost regretted his decision as soon as he saw Alia Lavryn opening the door. She was definitely the last Lavryn to tolerate him.

It would not be pretty, he could feel it.

"Are you kidding me?" Her face dropped as she walked to the gate. Eden was nervous. The woman was terrifying. "You cannot be here." Alia pointed a finger at him when she finally stood in front of him. The only thing separating her from throwing hands with him was the gate. "You should be ashamed of yourself, Eden Hazard." She sounded so motherly. He understood why she was so protecting of Jenna, but he wouldn't back down just because Alia wanted him to go away.

Eden held her gaze. If looks could kill. "I need to see Jenna."

Alia snorted, then proceeded to look at him like he just offended her whole family. "No, you don't need to see Jenna." She stated.

"Listen, Alia, I know I'm not your cup of tea and I understand why. I was an asshole to your sister when she didn't deserve it, but if Jenna is in there, I need to talk with her." Eden motioned at the house.

Her brows furrowed, and she clenched her jaw. Alia didn't have time for this. "Just an asshole?" She crossed her arms over her chest and took a step ahead. He almost felt the need to take one step back as a reflection. Alia Lavryn was scary. "My sister deserved so much better than you. Eden, you lied to her about having a baby and getting married. You treated her like shit for weeks so you could feel less guilty about cheating on the mother of your child or whatever. Jenna moved to Lille, with her heart broken, and had to deal on her own with losing a baby, while you were here happily—"

"Losing a baby?" He cut her off. Alia immediately closed her mouth.

It took him a few seconds to let the information in. His heart pounded and he felt the lump forming on his throat. The sudden pang of pain on his chest and stomach was something he had never felt before, not even the day he found out Jenna left. It was something so inexplicable. He always blamed himself for everything Jenna went through all by herself, but Eden never imagined she had to live such experience on her own.

Alia caught the expression on his face and immediately regretted her words. Eden rubbed his eyes with his fingers, already feeling them getting damp with signs of tears. He swallowed the lump on his throat, the words barely making their way to his tongue.

"You don't know about the baby." Alia said, almost like a whisper. The whole rage and indifference she had going on a few minutes ago being replaced with sorrow and regret. She didn't he had no idea about what Jenna had to deal with in Lille. Alia always believed he knew about it before her sister left for France. "I'm sorry, I..." She didn't know how to continue. His eyes were turning red, and she could notice the tears pilling on them. Alia never thought she would feel pity for Eden Hazard, but there she was.
