Pregnant in Dauntless- If the war didn't happen

Chapter Thirteen

•TOBIAS•

I turn over in bed and reach for Tris but her side is empty and cold, the sheets pulled back. I sit up and look to see if she's still here.

Sat in an armchair in the dark corner is Lynn, smiling evilly.
"I've been waiting for you Mr Bond," She whispers.
I scream and jump out of bed.

"What the hell are you doing here? Where's Tris?!" I grab a shirt and pull it over my head.
"She went out with Marlene and Shauna to do some girly crap so I'm helping you train initiates. They're fighting today. Am I right?"

I shake my head. "Whatever, I'll be there in 10 minutes."
Thankfully she leaves and I can get ready in peace.

Ten minutes later I have joined the initiates at the fighting ring. The fights today are:

Sam- Maya
Zoe- Ocean
David- Xander
Aspen- Grey

Henri is sitting out today because we have an even number of transfers. They all look scared shitless of Lynn who hasn't said anything so far, just glare at each and every one of them.

Sam and Maya face each other. They were both candors with David and so must know each other.

They fight for 6 minutes before Maya becomes unconscious. I send her to the infirmary.

Zoe and Ocean has an interesting fight. Zoe overthought each move (erudite habit) and Ocean hesitated before landing blows (amity habit). Eventually Ocean conceded and it was over.

David and Xander both used brute force and it took a long time before Xander couldn't stand. I can relate with him, I also transferred from abnegation not that I'd tell them that.

Aspen and Grey are opposites. Grey is kind but strong and Aspen is smart and obsessed with winning but isn't great at fighting. I think he let her get a few blows in but eventually hit her head and she was out like a light.

At the end they all train separately for a while, me and Lynn assessing their work. Zoe calls for me and I jog over to where she is hitting a punching bag.

"I just wanted to ask..." She bites her lip.
"What Zoe? I don't have time for this."
"Well Maya and me both think you are really cute. So are you single?" She winks at me.

Are you kidding me right now?!
"No I have a girlfriend."
"She doesn't have to know." I groan inwardly.
"We are serious and I would never do that to her. Now get back to your stance. It needs improvement."

With that I walk away, past a laughing Lynn who I flip off. She then walks over to Xander and shows him how to properly defend himself.

By the end of the day I get back to my apartment to see the whole gang sitting at my table.
"Does everyone just let themselves into my home now?" I ask them.
"Yup,"
"Yeah,"
"Pretty much,"
"It's not that hard,"

I throw my keys onto the counter, apparently I don't need them anyway and join them.
Zeke opens his enormous backpack and pulls out two bottles of alcohol.

"Unfair!" Tris shouts and I kiss her cheek.
"I'll get you a juice box." She nods and smiles.
Uriah rolls his eyes but doesn't object. Zeke still hasn't gotten over seeing me with his sister.

•TRIS•

We're sat in a circle on the floor, playing Candor/Dauntless or Strip. They all ignored my protests towards it.

"Christina: Candor or Dauntless? Or strip?" Uriah asks, wiggling his eyebrows. Marlene slaps him in the chest playfully.
"Dauntless," She answers, wiggling her eyebrows back.
Will scoffs but let's her sit on his lap.

"You have to drink whatever smoothie I make you in the kitchen," Uriah looks so proud of himself.

We all rush into the kitchen to see what he makes. He gets out the blender and opens the fridge.
First he adds some sardines, then spoiled milk, chilli sauce, teaspoons of salt and a lot of tomato purée.

Christina chugs it and then spits it everywhere, screaming loudly.

"Alright Assholes, who's next?" She asks, flicking her hair over her shoulder.
"Hmm I think I'll pick... Will,"

He looks so awkward and embarrassed.
"Of course you did," He mumbles under his breath.
"Candor or Dauntless? Or strip?"
"Candor," He says simply.
"If you could punch anybody in this room... who would you choose?"

"Uriah," He says quickly before turning bright red.
"I am offended!" Uriah shouts, faking tears.
"Lynn... Candor or Dauntless?" Will asks.

"Candor, I can't be bothered to get up."
I can relate on so many levels, but at least she isn't carrying a child inside of her.
"Who is this boyfriend you've been hiding from us?"

We all turn towards her, it's something we've been obsessing over for weeks maybe months.
"I haven't got a secret boyfriend," She squeaks.
"Yes you do!" Shauna shouts. "You always blink a lot when your lying and you blinked like ten times in five seconds!"

"Spill the tea Lynnette," Marlene says darkly.
"Fine whatever. I didn't want to tell you because I know none of you like him,"
"Pfft seriously? I like everybody-" She interrupts me.
"It's Peter,"
"Yeah everybody but him," I shake my head.

"You're dating Peter?!" Tobias looks fuming.
"We just got him out of our lives and now you what- have a relationship with him?!"

Lynn just gets up and walks out, leaving us all in silence. We end up heading home anyway.
Zeke and Shauna now have their own place so Uriah, Marlene, Will And Chris share the house that me and my brothers used to have.

I've pretty much moved into Four's apartment. It's really big and it's better to raise the baby together in one place.

A baby. I always knew I was pregnant but I haven't gotten my head around the fact that in 3 months I'm going to have a real life child.
And I'll have to go to labour. Urgh.
