We all sit in the waiting room silently, comforting each other as we wait. Her heart stopped and they're in there now, trying to start it again.

All we can hear are shouts and the beeping of machines. Doctors and nurses rush in and out holding syringes, serums, equipment. Uriah is in tears and I sit next to him, rubbing his back gently.

He went eight days searching for her, convinced something was wrong and there was. Some Dauntless found her curled up in the corner of a train car, having barely drunk or eaten. She was bruised and cut, obviously attacked at some point.

Carter is in Tobias' arms across the room and Christina is cradling a sleeping Penny. A doctor in green scrubs steps into the waiting room and we all sit up straight.

"She survived. She's going to have to stay in the recovery wing for two more weeks but she's alright."
Uriah leaps to his feet and hugs the surprises Doctor. "Thank you!"

"Can we see her?" Lynn asks, standing up aswell. The doctor nods. "But be quiet and don't crowd her. She is connected to lots of tubes so try not to hug her too much, maybe hold her hand instead."

We all thank him and rush into her room. I take Penny from Chris and hold her in one arm at my waist.

Marlene is barely awake, under so many serums. Her golden hair is splayed across the pillow and her face is clean of all make up.

"Uri." She croaks, blinking a few times. He smiles through his tears and rushes to her side. My immature brother embraces her before sitting and massaging her trembling hand.

"What happened?" He asks her quietly. She shakes her head and rips her hand out of his. "Not yet," she whispers.

We all sit by her and talk as if nothing is wrong, when little more than 2 hours ago we thought she would die. I excuse myself to get some water and find myself sitting on a plastic chair somewhere, my head in my hands.

I sense somebody sitting down next to me and I lean against him, nuzzling into his arm. Tobias is the love of my life, my rock and father of my child. I don't know what I'd do if I ever were to lose him.

"Do you think it's our fault?" I ask him and he turns to look me in the eye.
"Just because Uriah may have doubted his relationship does not mean it's our fault. It's nobody's fault except the person who attacked her,"

After hours of talking and comforting, Mar finally falls asleep. I let go of her hand and begin looking for the doctor.

I find him in a hallway, carrying boxes of serums. He motions for me to follow him into his office when he sees me.

I sit down on a chair and he sits behind his desk.
"So What happened?" I ask him and he clears his throat, searching for a file.
"Well the bruises and other injuries tell us that she was raped, obviously she ran to protect herself when she was attacked by factionless. Other than two fractures in her left arm, a break in the right leg and a dislocated shoulder, she should be alright."

I try to think straight. Raped? All because I was too immature to work for our relationship.
"It died didn't it?" My voice is hoarse and cracks.
"The baby?" He replies.
"Yeah."
"No your daughter is safe and unharmed in your wife's uterus." He assures me.

I jump out of my chair. "I'm having a girl?" I shout to him and he smiles warmly.
"You're having a girl,"

I rush to the waiting room to tell the others, skidding past surprised doctors many of whom roll their eyes at me, I mean I'm Dauntless.
The door flies open and they all look at me in alarm.

I'm shaking with excitement as I stand in front of them. "Uri are you okay you look pale?" Tris holds a hand to my head and I brush it off.
"I'm having a daughter!" I shout at them and Christina gasps, Shauna begins crying and even Lynn covers her mouth with her fingers to suppress her smile.

"She survived?" Zeke stands up and brings me in for a hug.
"They both did," I say tearfully. The others get up aswell and we have a huge group hug, me in the very center. The babies grab onto people hair and I kiss their foreheads.

"Now what's this ruckus about hey?" We all turn to see Marlene standing in the doorway on crutches, a nurse by her side.

I don't think, I just rush over and take her in my arms, presses a long lingering kiss to her lips. She smiles against my mouth as she brushes my tears away with her sleeve.

"Don't ever doubt yourself again. You might be immature and that's what I love about you but you're also brave, loyal, kind. I know you better than anyone and we will get through this together,"

She presses her forehead to mine and I take hold of her hand. "We will Mar. We will."
