"Help!" I cried as I hobbled forward. Ducking to the side just in time for the car to escape the field that had held me in its arms for a short moment. The man cried out in fear as the car shot forward and landed in a ditch. The front if it colliding with the ground and buckling. Slowly rising from the ground and flipping. Nun the less the man ran to my aid. "What's going on?" I simply shook my head as John emerge from the car. A bloodied brow and a small pistol in hand. "Please." I whispered. The man took one look at the gun an hauled my sorry ass up and flung me into the car. He stepped out an faced John. His fist clutched and brow knitted. "No!" I choked out as. I slammed my fists on the window. Complete fear was all I could feel. It numbing my limbs as if someone had held me in a cold bucket of water for several hours. I slammed my hand on the window again. "He'll kill you." I sobbed. Why do I care for this stranger? He saved my life. That's why. And I didn't want him to die over that simple fact. But the man held his ground and ignored my feeble attempts to save his life as he saved my own. They both began to shout and John lifted a finger at me and spat his venomous words at me. I could only flinch and look away. The man whipped out his phone and place emergency call on. John's face immediately changed and raised a hand in the air. They spoke for a moment longer and pointed at me.
"I will find you."
Were the words I made out from his lips. Shivers ran down my spine as I saw him turn and disappear into the corn field. Leaving his broken car in the ditch. I jumped slightly as the man opened the door and slid into the car. "Well. That was different." I bowed my head and looked at me feet. "My names Avi." He continued. Trying his best to creat conversation. But am I allowed to speak to him. Last time I spoke to anyone I got beaten. Will he do the same?
