Hibari decided that, when he got back, he was gonna kill that stupid cow. That stupid cow was whining and playing around with his bazooka again, and it hit him. The only problem with that is that for some reason, he was back in his 5-year-old form, and in a foreign place.
Hibari looked around, noticing the place he was in was...not Japan?
He paused. Looking around, his clothes changed too, into...a kimono? No, it was different, sort of like the hanfu that his mother wore sometimes.
"小弟弟,你这么在这里?*1"
Hibari stared blankly at the young woman in front of him. Her long black hair was tied in a low ponytail with a red string, and her hands were filled with groceries. Her light colored qipao was swaying gently, she had the same dark and beautiful black hair like his mother, and tilted her head as she smiled gently towards him.
Though he's never seen her before in his life, she seemed...familiar, just like...
"听不懂?*2" the young lady gently asked, she paused, switching to Japanese. "Can you understand me?"
Hibari nodded, still trying to figure out who she was.
She smiled kindly, "what are you doing here? It's very dangerous for little children at night." Hibari tried thinking of an answer, what does he say? He was hit by a bazooka that magically teleported him here?
His silence was mistaken as fear, her eyes softened, "it's okay, do you want to come home with me? I live in an orphanage, and there are many other children your age." She quickly added, in fear that he would mistake her for a bad person.
Hibari nodded, he walked over and grabbed a bag out of her hand. It was comforting to be around her, it was almost as if this was his mom in a different form.
Wait.
Hibari's eyes widen, whipping his head to stare at her. The young lady was still in shock of how polite and kind he was for helping her with groceries and notice him staring.
"What is it? Is it too heavy?" She shouldn't have let him take the bag.
confusion, excitement, and everything else swirled in Hibari's big eyes, he hesitantly opened his mouth,
"...Mama?"
"...Eh?"

"So, now he's taken a liking to you?" Asked Grandpa, who lightly sipped on the hot tea Miyu prepared. Light pink flowers bloomed around him, and he chuckled slightly.
An closed her eyes and sighed, "Yes, it seems like it."
Hibari didn't understand them, as they were speaking in Mandarin, a language he has yet to master. He could tell they were talking about him though, the old man had glanced at him about 3 times now. And the young lady, whose name was...An? Had looked at him, on average, 3 times per sentence.
An sighed and looked at the little boy who sat on the stone slab in the middle of the yard. The other children surrounded him with curiosity and wanted to play. She smiled a bit, relieved that he wasn't all by himself, then a thought came to mind, isn't it too dangerous for him to be walking around the woods in the first place? How did he even get there? Where were his actual parents?? Questions about the young boy bombarded An's mind till she decided to just go with the flow. She got up and headed towards the kitchen, humming softly under her breathe an unknown tune.
Hibari, on the other hand, was annoyed that the children here were not afraid of his famous death glare and seemed very intrigued to be around someone they don't know. He finally gave up and started playing a game with them, it was sort of like hide and seek? He sighed lightly, he was a bit concerned with how he was going to get back, though his expression gave nothing away.
"IT's a nice building isn't it?" Hibari spun around on his heels, his tonfas already attacking the unknown voice.
A hand grabbed the tonfa lightly but making it come to a full stop. "Now, now, there's no need to be aggressive."
Hibari glared at the old man, he remembered him, he was talking to his mother not long ago in the yard. His senses screamed at him that this man was dangerous. How did he not notice that he was behind him? And so close too.
The old man smiled, "I mean you no harm young one," He let go of the tonfa, patting the imaginary dust off of him, "I know you are not of this world."
Hibari's eyes widened, he gripped his weapon tightly, ready to attack at the slightest bit of suspicion.
"I don't have too much time to live. Don't be surprised, when you get to my age, and have been through half as much, you get to see and know stuff that normal people don't know."
He set his gaze on a couple of children laughing and playing, chasing each other in the yard. "You are here for An, are you not?" Hibari stared at him intently, before gently nodding his head. The old man smiled, "An...she's had a rough life, but I can tell you love her very much."
Hibari looked away, but his red ears gave away the fact he was embarrassed. He chuckled, "Oo~ someone's embarrassed~" Hibari suddenly had the uncontrollable urge to bite him to death.
"She doesn't say it, but she's very insecure...she's always afraid people will leave her, or suddenly disappear."
"So...love her for me, give her the love that she deserves since I cannot myself. okay?"
Hibari furrowed his brow, of course he will, that's his mother. His expression must have said it all because the old man threw his head back and laughed. "alright! Then, it's a promise."
Before Hibari could say another thing, his surroundings started to change, the sky and buildings started to collapse, and break like mirror pieces. In the corner of his eyes, he thought he saw his mother, who didn't seem to notice him.
He spun around to face the old man, who simply smiled sadly, and waved his hands.
"Love her, in the time that's left...okay?"
His eyes widened, time that's left? what does that mean? Reaching out for An with his small hands, panic started to fill his heart.
She seemed to have sensed him, and turned around, the same soft and warm smile on her lips.
