"Shhhhhshsh. Its alright kid." Tony rubbed one hand up and down Peter's back and the other through in hair in attempt to calm him. The rest of the present Avengers stood and watched the fearless Tony Stark actually appear venerable for once.
"Lets go lay on the couch. Okay?" Tony lifted Peter's chin out of his chest with his finger. The boys red puffy eyes gleamed with tears.
Peter struggled to walk to the couch but Tony helped him. Nat brought over the stuff Tony bought them and placed it quietly on the table.
"M-m-mr. Stark?" The kid looked up at Tony with his soft, quivering lip.
"I don't know what to do."
"Kid. Your aunt only wanted the best for you. This isn't it . She would hate seeing you like this. Am I wrong?"
Peter stared at Tony for a second and exhaled. "Your right."
"She would want you to be happy again. To move on but not forget. You know how much it killed her," he paused and looked around that the rest of the Avengers, "kills us, to see you like this. To see you cry."
Peter nodded him head and sniffed his nose. He knew May wouldn't want him to be sad forever over her. He felt guilty as he sat in front of everyone.
"I-I-Im sorry." He quivered.
"Pete. There's something I should tell you. Do you want to hear it now or later?"
"As long as I get some of the Ben and Jerry's I guess now."
Tony deeply sighed and lowered his chin to his chest. He looked up again at the hurt kid in front of him and removed his glasses.
"Now that you have no one to be your guardian, the child services agent approached me about the foster and adoption system."
Peter thought he knew where this was going and a look of sadness fell across his face. He lost May and now Tony and the Avengers.
"She wanted to place you in it because no one could take you in your family. Kid I couldn't let that happen. I mean after all you've been through an-"
Tony was interrupted buy a massive, warm hug from Peter. He buried his head in Tony's chest and Tony rested his chin on the top of the boy's head.
"As I was saying... I um, well, I... I adopted you."
Something Tony never thought would ever happen again occurred. The Avengers stood in shock and Tony was taken aback.
An ear to ear smile spread across Peter's face.
"Yo-you mean I live here now?" He looked around the massive room he was sitting in.
"Welcome to the family kid" Wanda yelled as she practically jumped over the couch and onto Peter and Tony.
"Oh and there is only one rule here. NEVER. And I mean NEVER, call me Mr. Stark." He grinned, "It makes me feel old."
~time skip to a week later~
Peter was starting to get back to his normal self again. He laughed again, smiled, and his loving eyes came back to the normal deep chocolate color.
Tony and the rest if the Avengers really liked Peter living with them. He had made them pancakes for breakfast a few mornings and always referencing pop culture movies.
Thor came for a visit but decided to stay a while. He loved messing with Peter because the rest of the Avengers always took everything so seriously.
"Mr- erm I mean Tony?" Peter stuttered at dinner Thursday night. "Sup spiderboy?"" He looked up from across the table, mouth full of spaghetti.
"I think I wanna try to go back to school." Peter nervously watched, waiting for the answer.
