Every few hours, Tony took the time to visit Peter in bed. Most of the time he was asleep so Tony pulled a chair up next to the bed and waited.

Tony hadn't slept for a few days and was running on three pots of coffee. He was determined to be there when the boy woke up and so he powered through the best he could.

Eventually, his body couldn't take it.

Tony drifted off in the chair next to the bed, his hands resting near the kid. Nat had come in a few times to check on Peter but decided to let Tony sleep as well.

The team still in shock that Tony Stark, the Tony Stark, adopted a kid. And the fact that the kid dint even know.

Most of the team believed that Tony was crazy to do such an extreme thing. Wanda, Thor, and surprisingly Steve were very supportive.

"He's a part of the team." Wanda sat at the kitchen counter talking some sense into Bucky.

"I couldn't stand one Tony and now there is two. Great." He rolled his eyes to the back of his head and giggled a bit.

"Come on Buck it won't be that bad! Wanda is kind of adopted!" Steve smiled and pulled Wanda into a hug.

"For your information, I was seventeen when I joined the team. I don't count that as adoption. But you all are most definitely my family."

Wanda smiled and hugged Steve's arms that were wrapped around her.

"The youngling will be entertaining!" Thor stuck his head out of the pantry looking for goldfish and popcorn.

"Now where-" Thor mumbled to himself about the food he was looking for.

Tony was still asleep next to Peter. It was almost three hours and Peter started to stir awake.

The kid sat up in the large bed from the previous night and blinked his eyes open.

Next to Peter was Tony's hand, only inches away from Peter's. Peter could tell how exhausted the iron man was so he let him sleep.

As quietly as he could, Peter snuck out of the room after covering Tony with a blanket. He looked down the empty hallway to his right and heard faint voices.

Peter adventured in that direction to find a huge open room with ten plus people in it. He stayed quiet util the stair he was walking down conveniently creaked loud.

Peter froze as all if the Avengers turned towards him.

"You must be the boy Stark a-" Thor stopped when he revived a sharp elbow jab from Nat. "Um. Ah. Stark angered you. Erm. Yea?" Thor miserably tried to recover from his mistake but failed.

Peter quietly sat on the couch and didn't say a word.

"Where's Mr. Stark?" His mind still fuzzy. Peter's eyes were still puffy and red. His voice shook with every word.

"Mr. Stark woke up only a few minutes after you Mr. Parker. He ran an errand and will be returning shortly." FRIDAY answered. Peter looked down at his lap as the events from the tragedy fled through his mind once more.

"Aw. Poor baby!" Wanda noticed the boy was struggling to hold back the tears and memories of the accident. She engulfed him in a large hug and ran her fingers through his hair.

'May used to do that.'

Peter bursted into tears once again. His cheeks turned bright red in embarrassment. After all he was crying in front of the Avengers.

He balled crying and it broke Nat's heart. She joined the hug followed by Thor, Steve, Clint, and even Bucky.

A ding broke the moment and the Avengers head's turned to the elevator. Peter kept his head in Wanda's shoulder and whimpered like a puppy with a hurt foot.

Out stepped Tony, chocolate and a shit ton of ice cream being dragged behind him.

Nat mouthed to Tony to respond to his confused look. "The poor thing can't stop crying."

Tony shook his head and all but Wanda retracted from the hug. Peter took the hint and lifted his head to Tony.

His lip quivered as he spoke. "Mr. Stark. Is she really gone?" Wanda released her grip and stepped back leaving Peter in front of Tony.

Tony couldn't find words. His throat was huge and it was harder for him to breathe. All he could do was let a timid nod motion the boy's answer.

Peter fell into Tony's chest. He dropped the ice cream and chocolate to the floor and hugged the boy.

His fingers ran through the brown curls that fell over his face. Stark's businesses shirt was getting drenched in tears but he couldn't care less.

It killed him to see one of the few people he has come to actually care for like this.
