Feeling her breath hitch, Isla deliberately averted her gaze from Wonwoo's, her heart pounding in her chest. She subtly cleared her throat, mustering the courage to respond, "There's nothing wrong." Her words were a lie, and she couldn't bring herself to meet his eyes as she moved past him and entered the household.

Upon reaching the dinner table, Isla settled herself beside Joshua, who patiently waited for their mother to finish setting the table. "Wonwoo-ah, join us for dinner before you leave." Their father's warm smile accompanied his invitation. The young woman expressed his gratitude to Mr. Hong by taking a seat beside Isla, causing her to shift awkwardly as she tried to ignore his presence.

"How's the tutoring with our little devil?" Joshua playfully smirked, initiating a conversation about Isla's tutoring. Annoyance tinged Isla's tone as she whined and smacked her brother's forearm, pouting her lips in irritation. "She's been improving quite a bit, but she seems a bit off today," Wonwoo commented with a chuckle.

"What's wrong, Isabella?" Joshua teased, affectionately squishing her cheeks. Isla pushed his hands away, emitting a sound of annoyance. "Stop teasing your sister, Joshua," their father scolded, prompting Isla to stick her tongue out playfully at her brother. "Mom, Isla is being naughty!" Joshua playfully tattled, earning a glare from Isla.

"Enough, you two. It's embarrassing to argue in front of your friend," their mother reprimanded, silencing their banter. Wonwoo interjected, finding amusement in their interactions, "I find it enjoyable to see siblings interact like this, Mrs. Hong. I've never had a sibling, so it's fascinating."

Exiting the house later, Isla was tasked with seeing Wonwoo off, as Joshua needed to focus on his medical studies. As they walked in silence, Wonwoo slowed down and turned to Isla, concerned by her uncharacteristic quietness. "Is something bothering you? You've hardly spoken to me during dinner," he raised a question, his worry evident.

Taken aback by his direct question, Isla's eyes widened slightly. "No, there's nothing wrong. I'm perfectly fine, and I'm not avoiding you," she assured, prompting a nod from Wonwoo, though he seemed unconvinced.

"You seemed distant after dinner. This is our final meeting before Christmas. Is there something you want to share?" Wonwoo's desperation for understanding was palpable. "Seriously, Wonwoo, you're just being paranoid," Isla replied, rolling her eyes in exasperation.

"Is it because I'm leaving Korea for good?" Wonwoo's voice lowered, his tone tinged with a hint of sadness. He approached Isla, who stepped back nervously, startled by his proximity.

"Answer me, Isabella. Does my departure sadden you?" His words hung in the air, and Isla's heart raced as she struggled to respond. "You're talking nonsense, Wonwoo," she deflected, avoiding his gaze.

"And you're not being yourself, Isla," Wonwoo whispered, his hand gently lifting her chin to meet his gaze. "Are you upset about me leaving again?" Before Isla could react, a snowflake landed on Wonwoo's hair, capturing her attention.

Startled, she pushed him away and looked up, noticing that it was snowing. "Wonwoo-ah, it's snowing!" Her excitement was contagious, and she attempted to catch a snowflake in her hands. "Make a wish! Come on," Isla encouraged, clasping her hands together and closing her eyes.

"Does your wish include me?"
