After she left I stayed on the rooftop for a while longer. The words she said to just won't leave my mind.

"You think because you're here now, that all my problems would just disappear!"

Emily I'm sorry I'm so sorry.

"Aye. What are you doing up here?" A familiar voice said sitting next to me.

"Oh.. Trey it's you." I barely lifted my head to look at him.

"You know it's not too late." He said but I stayed silent. He doesn't know what Emily's been through and neither do I.

"Are you really just going to give up just like that?" He stood up and wiped the dust off his pants. "Maybe you never were Emily best friend."

Stop

"I'm pretty sure she's doing okay with her problems."

Please stop

"Suffering alone no one to turn to. Maybe that's what's best. You never was there for her anyw-."

"Shut the fuck up!" I stood up and shoved him against wall. "Don't you think I know that. Don't you think I want to help her. She's been there for me so much. And I can't even do anything for her."

"Well for starters." He pushed my hands off him. "You can go to her right now. So come on let's go." He walked down the stairs and I followed him to his car.

"Wait do you think we could make a stop on the way there?" I asked before getting into the car.

"Where too?"

....

"Thanks for the ride." I hopped out his car and closed the door behind me.

"Don't come back home until. You fix everything you hear." He rolled down his window and said.

"Yeah. Yeah don't worry." I smiled and waved him off.  I walked to the front door and knocked. After a while she finally opened the door.

"What?" She seemed irritated to see me.

"I brought games, movies and snacks. So I was thinking."

"Not interested." She slammed the door in my face.

She's gotten so cold. "But I even have your favorite sour patch kids. I guess I'll have to eat them alone." I said loud enough where she could hear me.

She opened the door. "You have five minutes."

"Okay lead the way." I smiled following her to her room.

We played a few games and watch a couple of movies. As for the snacks she wasted no time on them.

"I don't remember the last time we actually hung out like this." I said after the movie ended.

"Yeah me either, Well thanks but I think you should go." She said walking over to her door.

"Yeah. I guess you're right." I stood up and she walked me to the front door. I opened the door and to my surprise it was raining. I guess we couldn't hear it because of the tv. I couldn't do anything for her after all. I hugged her and gave her a kiss on the check. I turned to walk away but she grabbed my hand.

"It's raining and all so you don't have to go right now. I wouldn't want to feel bad if you gotten sick or something." Her face was red and she looked away while she spoke. I smiled and came back inside. We sat on the couch in the dark for a few minutes before I spoke up.

"Hey Emily. What happened why are you shutting everyone around you out?"

She stayed quiet until a crack of thunder hit. And she ran and grabbed me.

"Still scared of thunder are we?" I laugh and she push me away. Another sound. Of thunder came down and she came back to me. Just like when were kids she always use to hang on to me when it rained like this. I grabbed her and brought her closer to me.

"It's okay I'm right here." She didn't move or say anything.

"Okay I'll tell you I only if I can stay like this." She whispered.

"Okay that's fine."

She took a deep breath and then told me everything.

"Emily I'm sorry I..."

"It's fine it's not your fault." She picked her head up but stopped. Her faces were so close to mine, I could feel her breath hitting my skin. She backed up a bit.

"I'm sorry I.." she paused and looked away. She tried to get up but I grabbed her hand.

I started to feel a bit nervous."Emily.. I." My heart stuttered but I felt at ease. She looked so beautiful the moonlight shined bright on her for a second. Making her eyes sparkle. I gently place my hand on her check and lean closer to her, she hesitated in shock before doing the same.

Before we connected there was a knock at the door. We stopped and she pulled back.

"We probably shouldn't do this. And I should go get that it's probably important." She got up and walked away.

Sitting by myself I started to freak out. I almost kissed my best friend me and Emily. Me and Emily... I started to reminisce and remember all the good times we had together. How we always laughing joke. How we've always been together. I don't know if I'm just in a moment, but... but I  think I might love her. I rushed to the front to tell her how I felt. Maybe she'll feel the same. When I reached her she was at the door with another guy.

"Oh Troy this is Chad. I'll let you two go at it I have to go get something for him." She informed me before walking away.

"Nice to finally meet you, I'm Chad Emily's boyfriend." He stuck out his hand.

"Boyfriend?"
