Regina
A long time ago

I rubbed my nine month stomach and paced the room, shocked that I had made it this far without the King suspecting that this child wasn't his spawn.

My night with the thief in the forest was the closest thing to true happiness that I had experienced since losing Daniel, and now this child was something to secretly celebrate.

"Regina." A domineering voice called from the doorframe of my chambers, making my blood turn to ice. "Yes, my liege." I shuddered, feeling his presence as he towered over me from behind, his leathery hands laying atop my shoulders.

"How are you feeling? I know Queen Ava was uncomfortable around this phase of pregnancy." He sneered, making me swallow uncomfortably and turn at him.

"I'm okay." I managed, shifting to give some space between us, but the sharp pain in my side caused me to inhale sharply and whimper under my breath.

"That's good, given that this child in your stomach isn't mine. My sperm haven't been viable in years." He sneered, the fear and shock literally taking my breath away.

"So I find it funny how you have fallen pregnant. My sperm wasn't even viable when Ava and I tried to conceive Snow." He taunted, my heart now hammering inside my chest with complete terror.

I went to speak to try and defend myself, but the more intense pain in my side and popping feeling in my lower stomach caused me to gasp and cry out for a nurse. "Johanna! I think my water broke!" I cried, many handmaidens rushing in and ushering the king out.

"Alright your majesty, it's time!"

Robin

I could hear almost inhuman screams coming from the Queen's chambers late at night, causing me to perk up and shake Will awake.

"Bollocks! What is it?" He cried, shifting uncomfortably on his mat that he was sleeping on. Both of us had set up camp on the outskirts of the castle, beneath the Queen's window just for this moment. She had visited after our night together, revealing that we had procreated and her want for me to be present for the child's birth, even though it may not be possible.

"I think it's time." I whispered, followed by a gruesome scream that echoed through the trees. I could hear her balcony door unlock, almost as an invitation for me to go up.

"If that's not an indicator I don't know what is." He joked, quickly embracing me before shooing me off towards the castle.

I swallowed and quickly scaled the wall, pulling myself onto the balcony, looking through the archway and opened door, my eyes falling on a group of handmaidens and women surrounding the source of noise, blocking Regina.

"Who are you?!" One of them cried, but the older handmaiden snapped her head over and silenced her. "He's okay." She assured, motioning for them to clear a space for me, revealing the Queen.

The sight of her took my breath away, her long hair was out of its hairdos, trailing down her face and shoulders, matted against her cheeks from sweat and tears. Her elaborate outfit was gone, leaving her in a long, white nightgown. Her makeup was mostly gone, but black mascara was still smudged underneath her eyes from the sweat and tears.

"Robin!" She cried, reaching an arm out to me, I hastily rushed over and gingerly took her outstretched hand, placing a kiss on her temple.

"Hey, it's okay." I softly tried to comfort, brushing her hair back as she took a deep breath, pushing intensely while the nurse coached her. I watched on in amazement as the baby slowly emerged from her body.

"I can't do it anymore!" She cried out, instinctively dropping back into my arm, letting her head fall back as she struggled for a breath.

"Oh- I got you. The baby is almost here." I whispered, watching her inhale sharply and push with a scream, making me jump and pull her closer, watching over her trembling knee as the baby continued to emerge.

"It hurts!" She cried, but the old nurse just smiled softly and pulled the baby once more, making her flinch and cry out. "One more!" I encouraged, feeling her body instantly relax into my arms as the nurse freed the baby.

"You did it! Oh gosh." I cried, feeling my eyes water as the nurse quickly bundled the baby who was crying loudly.

"It's a boy." She announced, handing the crying baby over to his mother who eagerly held him, rocking him softly. "Roland." She murmured, her own eyes wet with tears as she gazed at him.

"I love it." I whispered, watching as he quieter down on her chest. "Robin, you have to take him. The king knows that he's not his baby, and he's going to kill him." She urged, rocking the baby softly as the nurse gathered items in a bag to care for the baby.

"Wha- he's going to look for him, it's not safe." I cried, but she shook her head sadly and began to cry, looking down at the baby. "He won't remember. I'm going to take everyone's memories of this." She cried, motioning towards the spell that was on her nightstand.

"Even mine?" I asked sadly, my heart hammering inside my chest. "Yeah. Your fiancé who died of disease, you will think the baby is hers. You won't remember me, and he won't remember me." She cried sadly, now openly sobbing as she looked down at the baby who was sucking on her finger.

"Will I ever remember you? He deserves to know his mother." I rationalized, making her chuckle through her tears and brush a finger over his cheek. "Maybe, the spell can be broken, but it's just up to fate." She whispered, placing a kiss on the baby's head before carefully handing him over. Her big brown eyes were almost identical to our son's, but hers were filled with distraught tears, mine now mirroring hers.

"I love you, Roland." She cried, waving her hand over the spell, making everything go dark.

Present Day

"You're his birth mother." Robin cried as I released his hand, the memories rushing back to him. His big blue eyes shining with tears.

"Yeah." I managed, he just shook his head and pulled me close, pressing a kiss on my hair. The memory now transferred to my husband, one I had been harboring on my own, but knew I needed to share the minute I saw how big our son had grown. However, curses and undead wives made the situation quite tough. We were both sobbing until a small tap on the door made us pull away from each other.

"Why are you guys sad?" Roland asked innocently, making me pull away and stare at him lovingly, unable to answer the curious kid. His curly hair was ruffled from his nap, and I could see the gleam in his tired eyes that he shared with his father.

"We aren't, but why don't you give your mother a hug?" Robin suggested, making me chuckle and scoop the four year old into my arms. Feeling him instinctively relax in my grasp, completely melting my heart.

"I love you baby." I said with a smile, making him grin widely at me. One day I'd share these memories with him, explain the whole fiasco with him, but for now he was happy, which was all I needed.

"I love you too."
