Snow

My heart was hammering into my throat as I raced down the halls of the large castle that we were all sharing since returning to the Enchanted Forest after Pan's Curse. The family was in the middle of enduring a treacherous battle to defeat my step aunt, and prevent her from getting her green and grubby hands on Regina's baby.

I had gotten a distressed message from Robin, it was grainy and blurred, but I knew he was still getting used to the whole notion of magic.

"Baby...coming!" The message had cried, making me drop what I was doing and race back to the castle. Regina had confided in me, something I was completely in shock of, but she had shared how much delivery terrified her, and her request that I be by her side along with the thief that she had grown fond over.

I could hear petrified screams echo through the dimly lit hallways, making my skin pepper with goosebumps as I rounded the corner towards her chambers, the same ones that she had kept from when she was my father's wife.

The screams and moans grew stronger and louder until I reached the large wooden door where the Merry Men were standing guard, their faces white with fear from the sounds.

"HALT! You cannot enter!" One shouted, making me raise an eyebrow at him and stand a bit taller. "I'm Princess Snow White." I declared, but they looked at me with uneasiness.

"How do I know you're not the witch?" Will Scarlett questioned, but before I could answer another scream filled the air, causing them to jump at the abrupt sound.

"LET HER IN THIS INSTANT!" The queen demanded, making me huff and push past the men who eagerly let me pass.

As the door opened my eyes landed on my stepmother who was hunched over her large dresser, both hands clutching the side while Robin nervously rubbed the tension out of her lower back.

"Hi there." I whispered, making Robin turn around and blush, extremely flustered over his soulmate in such an intense level of pain. "She's been laboring all day- I had no idea! She kept it from me-! I think it's coming!" He rambled, but Regina just snapped her head over to the both of us and exhaled, reaching her hand out for me to squeeze.

"I thought I had more time! Ooooh! Fuck fuck! The baby is- dropping! It's dropping inside of me!" She moaned, her breathing shallowing out as she began to come to terms with what is about to happen.

"That's supposed to happen, love. We have a baby coming and it needs to come out." Robin encouraged, making me take a moment and smile at the sight in front of me. While he carefully rubbed her arms to calm her down, her groans growing more intense, I began to lay out towels down on the ground and bed to prevent any staining.

"Let's get on the bed, maybe?" Robin suggested, but she shook her head adamantly, reaching over towards me to grip my shoulders. "Ohhh! The baby feels close! I don't want to do this!" She moaned, panting heavily to try and stop the intense feeling that was washing over her body.

"What do you mean?" I questioned, gripping her tighter as she breathed through her teeth, the pain making it harder for her to focus. "So many women die during childbirth- I don't want to die!" She cried, her knees now buckling as the strength in her knees began to give out. I began to squat with her and bear some of her weight while Robin moved beside her with a bowl of boiled water and wash cloths.

"You're not going to die. Listen to me. Snow and I are going to keep you very safe." Robin assured sternly, making thick tears roll down her cheeks. "Breathe." I reminded, watching her struggle to keep her composure.
