The journey from Veritas to Winterfell had been long. It was longer than Karina thought it would be. Luckily she had Daria to keep her company in the carriage. The two women were in a carriage separate from the queen and her children. Karina was thankful that her father insisted on her getting her own carriage, something about the Queen didn't stick well with her. The carriage door opened to reveal one of House Spyre's knights. "My lady," he said holding his hand out for Karina to take as she stepped out of the carriage

"Ser Braeden," Karina said taking his hand and stepping out of the carriage. "Thank you," She said before walking over to her father. The two Spyres walked over to the Stark family together.

"Ned," Aren said smiling at the oldest of the Starks.

"Aren," Ned said as the two men hugged.

"My lady," Aren said nodding his head at Catelyn Stark.

"Lord Aren," Catelyn said with a smile.

"This is my pride and joy, my daughter Karina," Aren said introducing the only member of his family that was with him at the time being.

"My lord, my lady," Karina said curtsying slightly as a sign of respect. "If I'm your pride and joy, then what is Kevan?" Karina asked her father with a grin.

"That hasn't been decided yet," Aren replied smiling. "We'll be neighbors soon, Ned," he said to his old friend.

"Who would have thought, Aren Spyre leaving the Falls for King's Landing," Ned joked as the two men laughed.

"I can't exactly say no to the King," Aren sighed. "House Spyre and the Falls were on the wrong side of the Rebellion due to our alliances," he muttered. Karina frowned as she thought about the Rebellion. Her and Kevan had been just born when her father came back from the war.

"Half of Westeros was," Karina told her father.

"Ned take me to your crypt," Robert said joining the four, "I want to pay my respects."

"We've been riding for two weeks, my love. Surely the dead can wait," Cersei said speaking up.

"Ned," Robert said ignoring his wife. Ned and Aren shared a glance before the Lord of Winterfell started to lead the way. "Aren, you too," Robert called out. The Lord of Veritas looked at his daughter before going to join the two men on the journey to the Stark crypt.

"My lady, if it wouldn't be too much, I'd like to rest. The trip was a lot longer than I had expected," Karina said.

"Of course, my son Robb can show you your chambers," Catelyn said calling her son over. The dark haired boy came over.

"Mother, my lady," he said.

"My lord," Karina said with a smile.

"Robb, could you show Lady Karina to her chambers?" Catelyn asked her son.

"It would be an honor," Robb said. Catelyn nodded before walking off to show the Queen and her children to their chambers. "Are you not cold, my lady?" Robb asked Karina as they began walking into the castle. He, along with everyone else, was dressed in thick clothing to keep warm.

"Luckily for us Spyre women, our blood runs rather warm," Karina told him. Robb let out a small laugh at the that, Karina couldn't help but laugh either. "Will you be joining us on the journey to King's Landing?" She asked.

"No, I will be taking over my father's position as Lord of Winterfell while he goes South," Robb explained.

"Rather unfortunate. We're stopping in Veritas on our way South. Despite being so close to the North, it's quite different in temperature and weather," she told him as they came to a stop in front of a door.

"Here we are, my lady," Robb told her.

"Thank you, my lord," Karina said.

"Karina," Jaime called out walking towards them.

"Jaime, did you need something?" She asked surprised that he was there. She thought he would have been off somewhere with Lannister knights.

"Do I need a reason to talk to my wife to be?" Jaime questioned raising his eyebrow.

"Not at all," Karina said.

"Good day, my lady," Robb said to Karina with a small smile.

"You as well, my lord," Karina said to him before he walked off, not saying anything to Jaime. She opened the door to her chambers and walked in, Jaime following closely behind. He closed the door as soon as he was in.

"Wear crimson tonight at the feast," he said resting his hands on her waist.

"Why?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"All these northern men are looking at you and I want them to know who's you are," Jaime said looking into her eyes. They were an enchanting blue and he had found himself getting lost in them quite frequently.

"Are you jealous?" Karina asked.

"I'm a jealous man. You are to be mine and mine only to look at in that way," he stated before kissing her. He had to share Cersei with the King, he was going to be as selfish as he could be when it came to Karina. She was his and his alone.

"I'll wear crimson," Karina said pulling away.

"And I also have something for you," he told her. "A little gift."

"What is it?" Karina asked sounding delighted.

"Close your eyes," Jaime ordered. Karina closed her eyes, wondering what Jaime could have possibly gotten. He walked around her so he was standing behind her. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the golden necklace. He unclasped it and put it around her neck before closing it once again. "It's a lion," Jaime said leading her to a mirror.

"It's beautiful," Karina said touching the necklace lightly

"It's beautiful," Karina said touching the necklace lightly. "Thank you," She said turning towards him and capturing his lips in a kiss. Jaime pushed her back, without breaking their kiss, until her back was against the wall.

"Maybe I should get you gifts more often," Jaime said when Karina pulled away.

"I would prefer your company instead," Karina told him.

"I'll be sure to ensure that we spend a good portion of our day together in King's Landing," Jaime promised. "I'll leave you to rest before the feast." Karina kissed him one last time before letting him leave.
