Kane sat the row of chairs in front of Officer Daniels. The judge looks at him and asks his name, He replies rudely 'Kane and that's my F***ing Kid!!'. I give an apologetic smile to the judge. The judge starts talking again and asking me basic questions like my name, relationship with Layla and date of birth etc but then she asks the "BIG" question of why I deserve to look after/keep Layla  my response is:

 1. Because she is like the only family that I have left

2. Because Kane is abusive

3. Not a good father or person

4. and the may be going to jail within the next month or 2 as that's when his final court date is.

She thanks me and calls Kane to speak, he gets up rudely and stomps his way to the front. After he sat down and been asked the same basic questions as me he gets asked to list his reasons and these are them:

1. She's my kid

That's it! That's all he could come up with to try and save his daughter! The judge then asks if she, the jury and the rest of the court could be excused to discuss their final decisions. After a small intermission, they return with the results. 'After careful consideration and looking to see what is in the best interest of Layla we have come to this decision for a number of reasons, I'm sorry Amelia but you will be losing a lot of sleep from tonight onwards as Layla is legally in your custody!' I almost scream but I contain my excitement and just smile and thank her a thousand times. Just as I was thanking her again Kane starts to get verbally violent and I think if the security didn't step in it would have turned physical.

I go into a separate room with a desk and books etc with just Layla, The judge  and Officer Daniels and I have to sign a few different documents including ones about my legal 'ownership' over Layla and that in the eyes of the government when it comes to anything to do with Layla I would be considered a legal adult and we discuss how I'm going to deal with having a child at 15 and if I wanted to finish school. We discuss tomorrow that we will go and sort everything out financially and get all her stuff from my sisters/her mums and Kanes.

I check my phone and see that it's already 6:30 pm, I thank everyone and leave to find the nearest bus stop to catch a bus home. I arrive home at about 6:45 and everything hits me, I had been trying my best to keep everything contained but I just can't anymore. I decided to text my 3 best friends and hope that they can come over.
