The car crash that changed lives-Part 5

I text my group chat with my 3 best friends in; I ask them if they can come over and that its an emergency and I REALLY need to see them and tell them something. I tell them that they can stay overnight and we can order pizza if they hadn't eaten yet as it was 5 to 7 (6:55 pm). They reply and say that they can be there in about 5-10 mins and to order the pizza. I order 2 pizzas a Hawaiian, a meat lovers and garlic bread.

My first friend that arrives is Alice since she lives only 2 streets away, I start to cry then Sadie and Abby arrive and everyone asks whats wrong and I pull myself together enough, we walk into my room and we all squeeze onto my single bed. Before I begin Abby asks where my parents are and I say 'well that's kinda part of what I have to tell you, but first did anyone see the news from this afternoon?' Alice replies with ' Yeah apparently there was a big crash in town that killed everyone or something it's really sad.' 'Not everyone' I say quietly. They all look at me confused since I never watch or know about the news, 'How do you know' enquired Sadie 'because I know the people who died and who survived the crash and so do you guys', they look at me even more confused than before.  I was just finishing explaining about how I had a bad feeling all day when I hear the doorbell ring, I run to the door and answer it and pay the delivery guy. I go back to my room and give the food to my friends and hear Layla starting to wake up so I tell my friends that I'll be back in a minute. I grab Layla from the other room and bring her into my room and everyone starts saying that they didn't even know she was here. 'You know how I said that someone survived the car crash well I found them.......'

After I explained about the crash I tell them about court and being Layla's guardian. They ask a lot of questions including what I'm going to do about school, money and the house. I have decided to still attend school full time and I'm really lucky since my school already has a young parents program on site 2 days a week but the other 3 for at least the first week I'm going to convince the school to let me take Layla to school with me and then figure out childcare etc. For money and the house I'm just going to use all of my savings, my parents, sisters and ill get a job plus financial help from the government hopefully, and about the house, I'm just going to try to not use too much electricity to keep the power bill etc down.

We finish the food and start to discuss other important things about Monday since I'm going to try to go back to school. We think that Alice's mum can pick us up sometimes and take us to school or Alice and I can walk to school since its only about a 15min walk. All 4 of us and Layla are going to meet at school about 45 minutes before school starts so that we can talk to the principals and teachers about my situation and school etc.

We talk and look after Layla till we all fall asleep, but I think Layla might have woken everyone up at least twice not including me who was obviously up every time.
