Part 18

At lord Clive's castle, everyone knew about what happened at Henry's valley. Henry's soldiers were coming in small groups. Civilians reached before them. Lord Clive and other lords were on their toes trying to take care of them. General Salvador did not reached while Riendo and Jonald reached Lord Clive's castle at night. Nobody had any idea what happened. News were spreading about ogres and some soldiers were saying that it is false because Henry's army was trying to justify their running. But everybody saw the elf and it was hard not to believe. New tents could be seen in great numbers. Lords of Dround were sending letters to each other. Brett was one problem but now a foreigner army was in the land. Only half of Henry's army survived. Second enemy army entered the city from the right and flanked the soldiers. Ogres, trolls, big three horned rhinos and men. They destroyed houses, killed men and destroyed anything which stood in the way. Fireballs and arrows took many lives. Many wounded soldier stayed behind to fight because they were afraid that they will only slow their comrades down. They preferred to fight and die with honor. Soldiers were sad and angry because of the loss of their brothers in arms. In the Castle, dinner table was set. Lord Clive, Lord Artis, Lord Nigel, Lord Philip, Renald, General Riendo and General Jonald were sitting. They all were eating and discussing the situation.

Artis: We need a plan.

Nigel: The numbers you are telling General, it would not be possible.

Clive: But also they cannot fight against proper forms.

Riendo: We saw them fought, they can't fight the forms but they can fight once they are through.

Philip: And now they got three horned rhinos with them. They can break the ranks easily.

Jonald: Also, they can just attack us from far with fireballs.

A servant came in with a letter and handed it to Lord Clive. Lord Clive opened the letter and read it. Then he said.

"Brett is having a big feast and a big part of foreigners just joined him in the feast"

Everybody went silent. This meant that Brett formed an alliance with the foreigners. This was bad.

Artis: I will break his neck myself. i do not care if war is won or not, i want that fool's head.

Philip: We cannot be thinking about revenge or an individual. We have to survive this.

Clive: Can we kill their beasts?

Jonald: A paid killer killed one ogre alone, then we took down one more. it is hard but possible. Beasts are also living things.

Riendo: We were fighting in the market, a rhino just came through tearing a house down. My horse got pierced with its horn. I got separated from my men. I found that man in the street with bags of gold. He was trying to save his gold rather than his life. Had to talk sense into him to leave the gold and leave the city. I did not know that he was a paid killer.

Jonald: You must have heard his name, Rio. He is a killer for hiring. Today he took down an ogre alone.

Philip: But we lost too many men today.

Nigel: Then what do you suggest Philip?

Philip: I hate to say this and this is not a warrior's way but we need to plan assassinations. Brett head and whoever is controlling foreigners.

Clive: This could be a solution but people who come to other lands will not go back just because their king is gone.

Artis: But it will make them a little weak.

Riendo: Who is controlling ogres?

Clive: You said that they are fighting with them, probably same king or the alliance. we will see.
