{this takes place just after Captain America: Civil War. Your character doesn't know Peter is Spider-Man. Oh, and for the sake of the story, you're British ;)}

You gaze at him, resting your chin on your hands. You push your glasses back up. His brown eyes sparkle as he laughs with Ned. You wonder vaguely what they're finding funny. From the entrance to the cafeteria, you can't hear what he's saying but reading his lips suits you just fine. You've been at the school for a week and Peter Parker had already grown on you. Like a fungi, you think, cringing. But an adorable fungi.

You sigh, looking back at your tray and tossing the remains of your salad. When you look up again, Peter and Ned have walked off. The bell rings a moment later and you gather your things, excited for the last lesson of the day: Chemistry. You love science, you always have. But one thing makes this class so much better - Peter's in it, and the teacher placed you, "the new girl", next to him.

As you walk into the class, Peter looks up and gives you a smile. Inside you're giggling like crazy, but on the outside you just return the smile.

"Hi," you chirp, sliding onto the bench next to him and setting your pencil bag and book on your desk. He moves over slightly to make space for you.

"Hi, (Y/N)." The class hadn't started yet. The teacher wasn't there yet. Peter looks excited about something, he stares at you, silently waiting for you to open your book and get ready for the lesson.

You turn to him, grinning. You two had become quick friends and he'd told you all about his internship with Tony Stark. Every day he had something new to tell you; something he'd learnt or seen, or a conversation he'd had with Mr Stark.

"Okay, Peter," you laugh. "What happened between yesterday and today that you're just dying to tell me about?"

He grins. "So, you know how Mr Stark always gives me these, these tasks to do? Like projects?"

He always talked with elaborate hand gestures. It was something that thoroughly amused you.

"Yes, like the one where you had to go to Germany? To help out in his lab or something, and you got to meet Captain America?"

"Exactly!" He points at you and rushes his next words. "He told me yesterday that wants me to go to New York and help him with some super secret science thing that's inside the Avengers Headquarters!"

Your jaw drops and you put a hand to your mouth. "No. Bloody. Way!"

He grins like a mad man. "Yes, way! He hasn't told me what it's about yet, but seeing as it's Mr Stark -"

He breaks off as the teacher walks in and greets the class. You're smiling at him as he winks at you and faces the front, promising he'll tell you more later.

You and Peter meet up with Ned after school, rushing out the gates to get to Peter's house as soon as possible. When you'd met his aunt May after your first day at Midtown School of Science and Tech, she'd showered you with compliments and cookies. The boys had laughed at you later when you revealed you were gluten intolerant.

May also told you all about how much Peter had looked forward to you coming, as the school had put him "in charge" of you settling in at the school and Queens. You had tried your best to contain your smile.

You said your goodbyes to Ned at his place and continued on to Peter's. He was telling you about a new gadget he'd seen online that morning as he opens the door to the apartment.

You greet May and drop your things in his room, slipping out of your shoes as he closes the door. He sits down at his desk and powers up his PC, insisting on showing you the gadget. You flip his empty bin upside down and plop down onto it next to him.

The device is small and has propellers, like a drone.

"But check this out," Peter gushes, clicking around the website, bringing up a stats page. "It has four different kinds of cameras on it, a full 360 degree rotation lens and it can fit inside your palm!"

You zone out as he talks and chatters. You just watch him, smiling when he turns to you with enthusiastic, twinkling eyes and big hand movements. He almost knocks your glasses right off, startling you and making both of you start to laugh hysterically. It triggers you both, and the giggles don't stop. You're laughing loudly, falling off the bin onto the floor with tears sliding down your cheeks.

Peter laughs completely silently, his nose scrunching up. He gets off his chair to help you up. You both fall onto his bed, still chuckling. He looks at you.

"You're pretty awesome for a Brit, (Y/N)," he grins, sitting up and crossing his legs on the bed, facing you. You copy him, pushing your glasses back up your nose.

"You think so?" You look at him, eyes wide with astonishment. Your cheeks hurt from smiling.

"Oh, absolutely," he replies, inching closer to you. "You know, I've always thought British people are all stuck up and posh, but you're so..." He frowns at the ceiling. You bite your lip nervously.

"You're so many things. You're so clever, real funny and really, really attractive -" he broke off, staring at his lap and then back up at you. You freeze.

"Did I say that out loud?" He asks, terror-stricken. You start to smile. He grimaces.

"Yes." You poke him jokingly. "You think I'm attractive, do you, Peter Parker?"

"What? Well - maybe, wait, no - ahh - fine, yes!" He puts his head in his hands. You giggle and hop off the bed.

"Well, come here. I'm gonna tell you something now as well. A secret for a secret!"

He stares at you in disbelief and makes his way over to you. He stops in front of you, slightly taller than you are. His face still red with embarrassment. "Yeah, okay, what's this big secret?"

You lean in, put your lips to his ear and whisper, "I think you're attractive too."

He inspects the floor for a moment. A smile creeps up onto his face and he glances at you. Slowly, he puts a hand on your waist and one under your chin.

Your smile is wide. You're trembling with excitement as he leans in, closing his eyes. But your impatience betrays you, and you go on your tip-toes to touch your lips to his. He's slightly taken aback, but smiles into your kiss.

You put a hand behind his head. His hand moves from your chin to wrap both his arms around your waist, both of yours snake around his neck. His lips are sweet, his skin soft. You giggle a little, a blush warming your cheeks. You get the feeling it's not only your first kiss.

Suddenly the door clicks open and you hear May's voice. "Would you darlings like -"

You break away from each other, but Peter keeps his arms wrapped around you. Your face is as red as a tomato, your hands mussed in his hair. Upon seeing his aunt, he drops his head onto your shoulder, hiding his face in your hair and groans with embarrassment. May just stands in the doorway, her eyebrows all the way up her forehead.

"Aunt May," Peter sighs. "We've had the knocking conversation!"

She blinks. "Right, yes. I am so sorry you two!"

She cringes and closes the door behind, her calling out, "Let me know if you need anything!"

You can't help but laugh, and he laughs with you, gazing back into your eyes.

"Where were we?" He pulls you up close again and kisses you again.
